I've booked and paid my deposit - when do i get my confirmation details IE what you enter into My Disney Experience etc? when you paid the balance?

also someone mentioned the date the seat selection was available, anyone know how long before going that is?

We didn't book through Virgin but I calked Disney the day after our booking through another agency and the very helpful CM linked it to the app right away.
So you have the option to ask Virgin for your Disney ID of just go direct to Disney.

I booked with Virgin, and we got ours about the 190 day mark - in time for us to book dining reservations at 180 days.

You MIGHT be able to search for your reservation before that though - I remember speaking with Disney in the run up to dining reservations and they were able to pull up my reservation and give me the details, using our check-in dates, names etc.

As far as important dates to remember...
180 days before departure = dining reservations (if you're staying on site, you can book for the day you arrive +10 days)
60 days = fastpass+ reservations (if staying on site) and virgin seat selections
30 days = fastpass+ reservations (if not staying on site)

Nice info, now how the hell do i work out 180 / 190 days
i guess if i use a countdown app ?

I used this one :)

It'll give you a date for the 180 day mark, this is the day from which you can officially make dining reservations. Just give Virgin a bell the week before and they'll be able to give you the info!

It is well worth making advance dining reservations - you would not believe the trouble we went through getting some of ours. The more popular, like Cinderella's Royal Table and Be Our Guest are like gold dust if not booked at 180 days! The thing to remember is that at the 180 day mark, you'll be able to book for the day you check in and the next 10 days. So, if you have any trouble booking for one of the popular restaurants, try a little later in the 10 day period!
