When do you add your tickets to MDE?

Hi, we just got our tickets for our Feb. trip! We are staying off site, but will have magic bands, if that matters. We haven't been since 2013, so haven't used the My Disney Experience app or wristbands. I'm wondering if I should add our tickets to our account now or wait? I'm not sure which way is better or safer. I guess I am paranoid about something happening to my account and losing $1500 in tickets!

Also, do dh and just use the same account for us and the kids? I have them added to my account right now for our dining reservations. Do I leave it that way for their tickets, fast passes, etc?

Thanks a lot! I don't know why I am so stressed about this whole thing, lol!

I added our tickets to our MDE account as soon as I got the numbers. I felt this was much safer than waiting to do it.

My DH and child are both on my account - their tickets, our ADRs and FP. I can make separate FPs for them, but I'm not sure how it would work in the parks if I were to use the app to make additional FP selections. Hopefully someone can comment on that.

I believe your tickets must be linked to your MDE account before you can use them to book fastpasses. I always linked them right away and haven't had any troubles. I would suggest keeping the physical ticket media as a backup if you're worried about it.

As for accounts - you can book everything for everyone, everyone can book individually or any mixture therein. If your kids have their own MDE accounts, you can link them to yours in "Friends and Family". Once you're linked - you can book reservations for them and they can book reservations for you and everyone should be able to see any shared plans. I always thought it was easier to manage everything myself but my travel companions usually like to be told where and when...they don't really enjoy the planning like I do. I think it would be more helpful to have a couple of accounts if the travel party intends to tour separately for an extended period of time so each group can manage fastpasses on the go.

Good luck and have fun!!
