When do winter clothes usually go on Clearance?

DGS4 really needs a new winter coat. The one he's wearing now is too short on his arms. There's a gap between his gloves and coat, so he has cold wrists! I was trying to get him through this winter with it, then get him one for next year when they're put on clearance. Now even his Pre-K teacher has mentioned him needing a bigger coat! Guess I'll check at the thrift stores in the meantime, if it's going to be a while before they go on sale in the stores. It seems like his arms are getting longer every day! HAHA

Our winter stuff is on clearance now. Some of the stores are putting their swimwear and other spring/summer stuff out already, which is pretty funny considering all the snow we keep getting.

They are on clearance here. I got a boys coat at Old Navy yesterday for $10.

They have been on clearance for several weeks here. There's not much left. Spring clothes are appearing in the stores.

yup on clearance here in NJ. one year I waited until mid January to try to find gloves, and was told at a dept store they were all gone as I waited too long. I keep seeing ads for most depts stores that they have their winter coats on clearance so you should be ok if you shop around.

Thanks. Glad I asked, or it would have been too late! I got one 50% off at KMart. Only about 3 or 4 left in his size! Got a cute Disney Cars one that he will love!

It's been on clearance since January around here. I needed to get a long sleeve shirt in size large for my son and had to go to 3 stores to find one. Many of the stores are really picked over.

The swimsuits and short sleeve shirts were out instead.

Clearance?? Hah! There is virtually no winter clothes around...and I'm in the snow belt of Michigan. I went looking for a pair of winter socks for DW the second week of January...nope. Everyone had already moved on to spring. SMH.

I was going to say, don't they clearance winter clothes back in October to make room on the shelves for the shorts and swim suits?

Check in the Sporting Goods section for the socks.

All the coats were still full price here last week. Moved into the aisles and endcaps, but same price they were in November
