When Do We Get Documents (Blue Box)??

Hello. After much research and using this forum extensively to make our decision, my fiance and I purchased 160 points at AKV with a February '09 UY directly through Disney. We had strongly considered going resale, but after seeing the model during a recent vacation to WDW, we knew we wanted AKV and to purchase resale wasn't worth it fiscally. Now, we are waiting for our documents as our 10% downpayment was posted to our credit card on 4/30. When may we expect this mysterious blue box? I'm very thankful to everyone on this forum for your help with our decision and can't wait to become part of the DVC family-officially.

A couple of different departments and your Guide need to process the paperwork. It shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks.

Thank you. May I ask a dumb question? How do you paste your home resort's banner into your signature? Doesn't seem to be working for me.

I got my blue box 4 days after calling and asking them to send it. They told us we needed to wait a full week though.

No, unless the seller wants to part with their blue box, resale purchasers will not get anything from DVC until well after the deed has been recorded after closing is completed.

The Blue Box contains all of the legal documents needed by DVC to record the deed. It has a lot of information including everything that needs to be signed by the buyer. Ours included a video to walk us thru the signature process. The areas requiring a signature were identified with little Disney palm trees.

You forgot the best part of the blue box! You get a beautiful member handbook and vacation planner! In our box was also a canvas Disney Vacation bag, great for carrying stuff to the pool and such! I love my blue box and wouldn't give it up or should I say my kids would kill me! My 12 year old spent hours dreams of the times we would spend at disney and where we would stay. The dreams book is superb but the handbook is a great tool for planning with all the points charts and lots of details.

PS: We got our blue box about 4 days after our deposit was posted and it came fedex.

It took us almost two weeks to receive our Blue Box as we were part of the mass of people purchasing during the last incentive. It truly depends on how busy MS is as to how fast you get it - but it shouldn't take too long.

We closed on our resale purchase about 6 weeks ago. We recieved a blue "folder" 2-3 weeks later. However, it just contained a "planning" book. It did not contain our membership number, etc. etc.

Will we be getting anything else? How long before we get our membership number?

we bought resale and closed in Jan. I got an envelope in the mail with my DVC cards--that's it. I already have the blue book and the DVC perks little book--but what is the planning book? Do I need it?
