When do waitlists typically come through?

We are waitlisted for AKV Jambo for May 8-15. They had every day but Thursday, which is kind of in the middle of the trip. I thought that getting one day to come through for us would not be that hard. It has been weeks now since we booked SSR (with the AKV waitlist).

Is there a typical time that the WL's actually come through? 30 days maybe?

My waitlist just came through today. We are arriving May 16 - 21 and just got AKV at Jambo a 2 bedroom. We were in OKW and I was on the wait list for BC and AKV. I only called about a week or two ago and could only get OKW, which is my home resort, but we wanted to stay somewhere else this trip. I kept checking every day with no luck. Today I called about dining at around 5:00 and asked the CM about my waitlist he said wait and I'll check and said yes there is room at AKV. I was so thrilled. This has happened to me before with a waitlist, no luck until I called. I have called about three times on this last reservation.

Yes, I know that. But I was wondering for those that have come through, when does it normally happen.

I've had waitlists that I've gone on at exactly 7 months come through a couple weeks later (I'm hoping that's what happens with the one I went on yesterday). There seems to be a lot of movement around 6-7 months. Then, if not then, I've usually had to wait until 1-2 months in advance, if not closer.

We've had it been super close; I think the last time was also for May around the time your going; we had one night in the middle of our ressie that we were waitlisting for, we were leaving on Saturday and I think when I was printing out confirm stuff on Friday it was there!

I just checked the website. I too was checking several time a day so when I saw the change I must have looked at it for 3 minutes to make sure I was seeing it right.

I was just placed on wait list for October for Mk view studio at BLT, should I call about once a month or have faith in the automatic system? I need some pixie dust, my husband passed out at work on Monday and was taken to the Er by ambulance. We are sitting in the doctor's waiting room now to try to figure out what is going on.

I did call once on mine and the CM seemed really irritated with me. She said "it is still active" so fast that I know she did not even check.

Our first wait list came through in three days. On Thursday afternoon (3/11) we decided to add two days, 10/7 & 10/8, to our 7-night Food and Wine trip (we have 2 nights at BLT and 5 nights at AKV, both in 1-bedroom villas). We wanted a studio at either BCV or BWV, but none were available for those two nights. We happily booked a studio at SSR and wait listed a BWV garden view studio. On Sunday, 3/14, I checked the DVC website and found that our BWV wait list came through!

This is the first time we've used a wait list. Do you think I've used up all of our wait list pixie dust for the next 20 years???

I'm not sure how much faith I have in the waitlist working on its own. I called yesterday to try to switch resorts at 7 mos. and wasn't able to get the reservation I wanted so I waitlisted. I checked back today to see if by chance it would be available for a day later and I was actually able to get exactly what I waitlisted for yesterday. The CM said, 'That's strange, I wonder why you didn't just automatically get it via the waitlist seeing it was available'. He suggested maybe 'he beat the system to it' but how is that possible? If I hadn't called someone else could have gotten it even though I was waitlisted. And suppose someone was ahead of me on the waitlist and I was able to get it this a.m. That means I trumped them b/c I called? So, in my case at least, it seems like the sqeaky wheel does get the oil (even though I wasn't trying to be squeaky . I'm sure the WL works well a lot of the time but not always apparently.

This is exactly what happened to me last week. I called for a 2 BR at BLT for 10/9 for five nights and was told the first three nights were not available. I waitlisted. There were no 2 BR available at BLT, BC, BW or VWL for 10/9. I was told that BWV had availability 10/10 for 5 nights so I called back the next morning at 9 PM in hopes of snagging BWV. It was not available. I asked to check BLT and 10/9 to 10/15 was available eventhough I was waitlisted for those same days! Very strange. I didn't really care because I was happy to get the what I wanted.

Question...do they know how often you call to check availability? Because this past Sunday I set up a waitlist, but I am really impatient and have called every day since. I'm just wondering if they know I keep calling.
