When do VH send tickets?

I leave in 11 days and the VH website says our tickets haven't been sent. It also says allow 7 days once they have been sent - so should I be worried?

If they are sent tomorrow I won't get them until 4 days before we go.

Or do you think they've been sent and the website is out of date?

(At least this gives me something other than the swine flu outbreak at school to worry about.)

Libby, as far as I remember VH are notoriously slow at sending out the tickets. I wouldn't start to panic until you are a week away.

Can't believe you've only got 11 days to go - it seems to have come round really fast :)

we usually get ours from virgin just the bare week before we fly. Always nervous but they always turn up

I always understood VH cut things fine but not to have even got them into the postal system yet is more than worrying.

Ours turned up almost 4 weeks before at Xmas, maybe they do it because of Xmas post but after reading how late everyone usually gets them I was surprised to get them so early.

For our holiday in May we got our tickets 2 1/2 weeks before we left, which was the day after they updated the website saying they had been dispatched. If it was me I would be chasing . . .!

I really wouldn't rely on what the website says. My favourite VH story is that in 2007 when we were sitting in our hotel room at the Contemporary the VH website still said "Tickets not yet sent".

You won't get anything tomorrow, and VH can't send them out tomorrow because of the post strike so I would phone them just to find out if they are in the post yet.

I got mine today and I don't go for 18 days, the website said they were posted on the 14th so only took 2 days to get here. ALike David said tho in past years I've received them before the website status has changed so they could already be on their way to you. Hope you get them soon :cool1:

We leave on 1st Aug (2 weeks on Sat) and got ours yesterday so on that basis I would have thought you should have had yours........I'd be chasing if I was you.

Thanks for all your replies. I feel better that the website doesn't always show the true status. I'll give them until Monday and then start chasing. BTW will I have to talk to India to find out what's happening?

I called today as the start date of the park tickets is 2 days later than out holiday! I spoke to someone in India and it was fine, he checked for me and said it ddn't matter, only took about 2 mins to sort out :goodvibes

When you get through to the switchboard make sure they know that you want to be put through to the UK call centre (without wishing to be rude, who would opt for anything else??), an operator I spoke to on Monday told me that if someone specifically asks to be put through to the UK call centre then they HAVE to do just that. Good luck!

I have now spoken to VH and have been told that tickets are only sent 10 days before travel. I didn't argue that others already had them. So I'll keep my fingers crossed for early next week.

A few years ago, our Grenada tickets came 2 days before departure!

where on the website does it say whether or not the tickets have been posted, just been on there and can't see it anywhere

It's in the Virgin Holidays Manage my bookings section. On the right of the screen there is a box titled "payment options" and in that box is the option "ticket details" click on that and at the bottom of the next screen it will say if your tickets have been sent or not.

Ah!!! thankyou!!!!
hmmm tickets not yet sent out :rolleyes1

We fly with Virgin on August 3rd and we received our tickets yesterday. I am sure that your tickets will arrive in the next couple of days. Have a good holiday.

I've heard of so many people geting their tickets early. I'm so worried that ours still haven't arrived. I'll phone again on Monday if we've still not got them.

I wonder how they send them out, you'd have thought their computer system would issue things chronolgically.
