When Do The Passes Start??

Do your passes have to start the day you check into your resort? We arrive too late to really do any parks so I was hoping we could start them the next day. Anyone know?

They start the first day you go into a park.

Yes any pass will become valid the first time you use it. Don't worry about the date that you purchase it; only counts on day of entry.

I should explain that I won this trip and it included 4 nights stay and 4 day park hopper passes. I emailed the promotions dept and told them that since I added on an extra night at our expense, what do I do about the extra day for the passes. I was told that I could purchase one day tickets at my resort. Well I looked online and they are $67 each! So now I emailed them to ask if my passes could start the next day. I sure hope so!

Actually you should be able to take the 4 day tickets they give you and go to any guest relations window and upgrade them to a 5 day ticket by paying just the difference between the 4 day ticket and the 5 day ticket. This should be around $5 a ticket. In any case, if you don't go to a park the first day it will not use a day on your ticket. You can also skip days - for example go to a park for two days, not go to a park for a day and then go to a park for the next two day and you will have used your four days on your ticket. They just have to all be used within 14 days.

If the tickets are "standard" tickets you could add a fifth day to the same tickets for about $5. per ticket after you receive them at check in. Standard tickets "start" when you first [try to] use them.

It is possible that some trips you win come with non-standard passes and it is possible you might not be able to add more days to those tickets. Ask anyway. Most likely they too will start on the second day if that is when you first visit a park with them.
