When do the 2009 rate come out.

Last year package rates came out in August for 2008, also the new dining plan changes!:goodvibes

Rates should be out in the summer. If you want you can book a room only reservation now, by calling disney, can't use the web site. You will be charged a one night deposit based on the peak 2008 rate for your resort. When the real rates are released, the nightly rate will be adjusted. Then when the real rates/packages are released you can change to a package if you want.

I'm so glad you asked that, because I was wanting to know too :) It's a little strange to try to plan a trip and not know how much the rooms will cost.

I was referring to the changes from 2007 dining plan to the 2008 dining plan. They may have come out a little sooner, but that is when I booked my trip (August) so that was about the time I remembered hearing about the drastic changes for 2008 dining!

Hi,

We're planning on going to WDW in mid-July of 2009, while staying at the Beach Club. I'm going to book the package right away when the rates become available, so I'm assuming that won't be a problem. However, are codes applicable to MYW packages as well as room only reservations? Can I apply the code (if available) after my initial booking, and have Disney change the rate(s) on my package? And, if so, will they simply reimburse the difference to my account?

Sorry if this sounds "newbish," but this will be our first time booking directly through Disney as we have used travel agents in the past, with our most recent trip being absolutely nightmarish; seats all over the plane, wrong room booked, wrong Magical Express information, etc. :sad2:

Thanks,
Simon :wizard:

P.S.: I don't mean to hijack this thread!

Welcome!

The codes are specific to specific reservations. For example, there might be a room-only code and/or a package code for any given time.
Also, the code can be applied to the package you have already booked, but only if there is availability in the resort and room type that you have booked. You might have to make a few adjustments in order to get the code applied. I think this might involve booking a separate reservation and then canceling your current ressie.
Yes, if you receive savings from the code, then you will be refunded the difference.

If a code comes out after you book a room, you can apply it to your reservation, if the code is available for your resort and dates. However, if you already have some discount on your package and a new discount comes out, you will not be able to apply the new discount without giving up the old discount. You can't double up on discounts. So, if you had a package through AAA with a discount on the room, and a package came out with free dining, in order to get the free dining you would have to lose the AAA discount on the room. Only one discount per reservation.

after booking my Feb. 2009 trip yesterday, I was told that new rates will be coming out in August.

I booked my Thanksgiving 2007 trip in Dec. 2006. I booked a package at Pop. When the codes came out, I called and could not apply it at Pop, but could at Sports. They just switched everything over, and applied the refund (over $400) to my credit card.

I'm ready for next year's rates and dining info so I can book a trip for Spring Break!!!!
