When do kids go back to schools in the West/CA?

Wednesday after Labor Day in Seattle.

Anaheim Unified High School District (district Disneyland and a lot of OC is in) starts back on August 29th. The district in my area (Corona/Norco) about 30 minutes East of DLR starts back on Aug. 10th except for the year round schools which went back on July 11th. (My DD11 included).

Orange Unified School District (Orange and Anaheim Schools) returns on Aug. 25th.

I didn't realize so many districts still got to back after Labor Day.

Up here in my area of N. Cali, schools go back mid-August (Aug. 17th this year). But they also get out crazy early now - May 27th this past year, May 31 this coming year.

Sigh, I wish we were back after Labour Day, but it's Aug 22 for our schedule.

In my part of Nor Cal, we go back next week! It's too soon!

All of my teacher friends are back in school today.

A lot of schools in the Nor Cal area are year round and they went back August 1st. They have two weeks off at the beginning of October and tons of families hit DL.

My nieces go to private schools and one starts August 31st the other Sept 7th.

It seems now a days there is no set schedule anywhere anymore! When I was a kid it was day after Labor Day until mid June!

We go back on August 31st (private school) but the district we're in goes back a week later. We're in western Washington.

That and the colleges start back the 20th. Yes, I took a Saturday class. lol

In california, CSU system starts Aug. 22nd and UC system (except for Berkeley and Davis I think) don't start until Sept. 22nd.

I am in Nor Cal near Sac and we have three districts that I am familiar with and there are probably more in the outlying areas but the ones I know of one starts next monday the 15th ours starts the 22nd and the other big one starts the Tues after Labor day.

Next year however we are going to a week earlier and starting on a Thurs. BLEH! But as someone pointed out I think if you REALLY want to be safe I would wait till after Labor day.
