When Do I Want To Fly??

I am the most indecisive person. We have two options for flying. One, we can leave at 6:30 a.m. and I think we would get to Orlando at about 12. That puts at us Disney World around 1 p.m. Or we can leave at 11 and get there at 7 p.m. If we take the first option, our return flight isn't until 6:50 p.m. With the second option our flight leaves at 1. We are really thinking that not getting there until 7 is not a good option. However, what are we going to do at 1 in the afternoon???? And, what are we going to do the day we leave until 4?

I'm really thinking the first option is what we want to go with. However, what are we going to do during that time? We can't check in until 3 or 4, correct? We are doing 5 day hoppers, and we aren't going to use them those two days. I'd really like to go see all of the different resorts, so I know we can do that during that time. My only thing is that when we ge to the resort, I think we'll want to rest and then do that stuff. Can you tell how indecisive I am??? Someone convince me please!!!!

Thanks. :earsgirl:

We always try to leave early and come home late. Why waste quality WDW time! We will be getting there about 11:30 a.m. November 9 and plan on checking in, leaving our lugguage with the bell captain and getting to the nearest park as fast as we can! I know we'll be tired, but if we came in late and just hung out my kids would go bananas and probably wouldn't sleep well that night either.

The day we leave for home, we check out early, leave our bags again and get to the parks by 10:00 a.m. We them have a marathon day, running from park to park doing everyone's favorite. Our flight this time is at 7:00 p.m. (couldn't get one later). We go home tired but happy and don't have any time to be sad about leaving.

So, after all of that, I vote for arrive early and leave late.

Good luck with your plans!

Madi1997, I also like to get there early and leave late but remember that with the new rules at the airport you will need to arrive 2 hours early. For the 6:30 flight that will be 4:30! I would have a hard time recovering from getting up soooo early. :D

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to plan for the early trip. We won't go to the parks that day (I don't think). However, I do want to see more of the whole thing.

I think we are going to fly NorthWest. I was reading on their website that you only need to arrive 1 1/2 hours early if you fly before 7.

What is the earliest a person can check in and out?

The official check-in time is 3:00 or 4:00, depending on the resort. But sometimes you get lucky and can get your room earlier, especially if you are not specific on requests. If your room is not ready, they will store your luggage and you could go have lunch somewhere or how about going to Downtown Disney. Check-out is 11:00am, but you could request a late check-out, usually until 1:00pm. It depends on how full they are if they will allow a late check-out. Are you renting a car? If you are, you could head to the outlets for some shopping.

You were wondering what to do the first afternoon? Go to Downtown Disney, it's a great place to go, lots of stores and sights to see. Or hop the monorail and take a trip around the World. That night you might go to the Contemporary to watch the fireworks over MK. Our go to the pool and relax before you start going to the parks. Lots of things to do other than going to park for part of a day.
