Hi there,

Just wanted to know when is a good time to send out a newsletter or pre "Save-the-Date" cards from DF and I? We have a pretty large guest list and I would love to know who is thinking of going earlier then 8 months so I can budget and plan.

Any ideas? Anyone else do a newsletter 1st?

Thanks :):cheer2:

I didnt do a newsletter and probably won't cause I am not very crafty. We did let all our must have guests know right away so they could start planning.

I think letting your guests know asap and giving them all the info about a destination wedding is a great idea. Some might have to save, put in notice for work and/or make other arrangements right away.

Once you sign your contract Disney will mail save the dates for you so it might be cost affective to let them do it and not mail another set. I know lots of girls here have sent out a newsletter and even response cards so they could get an idea ahead of time.

I'm just under 2 years out (hoping for 12/6/2010) and just sent out a card to my guests that I made on the photopass website to give them the heads up...

It took all of 2 minutes and I think they turned out great! We're only having a small Escape wedding so I was pretty sure everyone was coming, but everyone called when they got them and said how much they loved them and that they were planning on coming.

I then plan on sending a newsletter out at the 18 month mark with tons of info in it on planning a Disney vacation so that when we get our date confirmed everyone should have had PLENTY of notice and be able to book right away so I don't have any last minute surprises. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Originally, we chose a week this way if our date didn't pan out it would be okay. We let everyoneknow the week (a year in advance) so that they could start saving planning etc...
We did a newsletter, it was really nice. We also did a "Were not getting married in disney" one shortly after which stunk...

I can upload it once im home tomorrow fo ru to see!

The text went something like
We have chosen toget married at wdw in orlando florida. We would love nothing more than for you to be a part of it so we are letting oyu know the dates now. So that we know who and what to expect please get back to us within the month if you are a definite, or if you are definitely not going to be able to celebrate with us. If you are confused, thats okay too because we are too! Just let us know, and we'll help share in your confusion!

And then under that i had little tidbits of the hotels and approx amount of money etc
