I have recently booked my ressies for September and always get antsy waiting for my "Mickey Mail". Every other trip I've gone on has been booked trough my work and we only got one package of mail about 45 days before our trip. I always though it was due to the airline employee discount package.:confused3

Just courious if when you book directly through Disney if you get anything else earlier.

Also...how many of you have ordered the free maps? What do you think of them?

I've never gotten anything from Disney in the mail...it's all electronic. :)

Though I do receive a packet from DME about 45 days out. :goodvibes

Usually we get Magical Express documents before we get our travel documents.

Travel docs are usually sent out shortly after final payment (45 days prior to travel)

Last trip we took we never even got our ME doccuments and we got are travel document 2 days before we left

We're going on May 16 and we got our ME packet this past Monday and our Disney packet on Wednesday. I think we got them a little earlier last time, like within a day or two of the 45 day mark.

We are actually going to Disney World on the last week of May and we haven't received anything in the mail yet. (Our trip is 44 days away.) We did go ahead and order the customized maps and received them after 3 weeks. They are absolutely beautiful, and definitely worth getting, but I wouldn't recommend taking them on the trip with you. Honestly, their just too nice and they might get all messed up...lol...we are keeping them as keepsakes and will just use the maps we get at the main entrance of each park.

I ordered the maps too and LOVE them. Like the other poster said, I'm not going to take them along, they are just too pretty. A great keepsake!

what all will I get in my DME package?

You'll get a booklet with travel vouchers and instructions in it. And your yellow luggage tags. These need to be placed on your bags before you leave home. The tags let the CMs know to pick up your bags at the airport and which resort to deliver them to.

Thanks..I'll be sure to order them!

Here is another vote on how nice the maps are. I was really impressed with the quality of them. To me they are more meant to be hung up on a wall then to be brought to the park.

Have fun on your vacation!!

We also ordered the maps........what quality products for free!!! You wouldn't ever want to take them with you on the trip though!

My other advice would be this........we wanted the maps to reflect our trip, and since I ordered them ahead of time, well, they had EVERYTHING on them and we didn't see or do everything in all of the parks.

So, when we got back, my husband ordered a set of maps and we went through and just picked those things that we actually did while on our trip. Of course, you have a 6 month wait between map orders. SO, since our trip was in November, the new maps came after Jan. and had 2008 on them instead of 2007.

This year we are going to just wait until we get back and then order the customized maps. THey arrived within 3 weeks of the order.

It may depend on where you are staying (OP). I received invoice by e-mail, but I also received in mail the standard brochure welcoming us back to CBR. (we are not going till Sept.)

Question for those of you who have ordered the maps...did you get one for each member of the traveling party, or just one set total?

I have always gotten my travel docs about 2 weeks after I made my final payment.:)

That's great advice! I had added the TS places that we have ADR's to the maps, but I think I'll remove them before I order. Oooh I can't wait to see the maps now!!
