When do employers usually give the "first" raise

MY DH has a 90 day review the first part of next month and supposedly a raise, then every year after that. Is that the general "norm". This is a bigger company than he has normally worked for so that may be it.

My company gives performance raises once per year, and that's it. We also don't give anything after the probabtionary review. What you're hired at is what you keep for the first year.

I started the job I'm at on May 3, 2004. I was on a 30 day trial period and at the end of that, I was offered the job permanently, and with that I got a raise. I also got a raise in December. I am guessing that I will get a raise again this December, but I'm not sure.

I started a new job about a month ago. They really wanted me, but just didn't have it in their budget to pay me what I wanted. Their highest number was pretty close to my lowest number. I felt that it was a really good match, plus it's business casual year round, no toll roads and only about 25 miles r/t for work. So we compromised. They are working on next years budget, and have guaranteed me a raise in January, which is when I'll get a review. They are also going to be changing my title from coordinator to director, and I've already indicated that as I'll have a lot more responsibility, I'll expect to be compensated appropriately for that as well, and there has been no push back on it. :)

after 90 days -- benefits
6 mos - raise
Then yearly

Yep, that's when he gets his benefits too, like insurance, at 90 days.

If you are exceptional, a raise will be given. However, the norm is every year.
