Not sure if I am posting in the right spot...but I figured I'd give it a whirl!!!

I have a few questions....
When Disney movies go into the vault...do they pull them off shelves OR can you still buy them until they run out.....

Is there a list of WHAT'S IN and WHAT'S OUT and WHAT'S COMING OUT of the vault??

How long are they in there for? Like 10 years??

Thanks!

I believe the time varies that each movie is in the vault. Sometimes 7 years, sometimes more.
They do not get pulled from the shelves, but will start selling quickly once Disney quits producing. That being said, I just looked at eBay and found Pinocchio for $15. Pinocchio was last out in 1999 and is coming back to DVD this spring. (10 years). I know Fantasia is hard to find and if you want to get an idea just go to your local Blockbuster and see what is not there.

As for a list, I am not sure where one will be.
I googled this idea and found this: http://disney.families.com/blog/whatisthedisneyvault

I am sure there is more info. out there.

I've found that a film is usually in the vault in the range of 7-10 years. Snow White is supposed to be coming to DVD this fall, and it was last released in 2001. Sleeping Beauty, on the other hand, was released in 2003 and again in 2008, though that short time span may have more to do with the emergence of blu-ray, the distinctive art style of Sleeping Beauty, and the 50th anniversary of the film itself. However, Disney did not open the vault for the 70th anniversary of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Disney's reason for "the vault" is so that a new generation can be reintroduced to the classics. I think it does help them to build anticipation for the next release of the film.

I would love to get in to the "Vault":goodvibes

I know that Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 are coming out of the vault this year and they will be adding the Salvadore Dali piece that Roy Disney worked on in the set.

I would love to get in to the "Vault":goodvibes
Can I come with you? Maybe bring Parkhopper as well?
