the mods get included in the regular DDP instead of QSDD? Just got an offer and saw that the moderates were included in the regular dining plan instead of the QS. DD and I just returned from a trip and had the QS (stayed at value on free dining) and though we did have many credits left over we kind of got a bit bored with the CS choices in the parks. Found good value of CS at Puck Express though.

Also on DDP how are you charged for the "excluded" tip? Is it up the the guest's discretion or is an automatic 15% added in to folio at checkout? Just curious about this since the last time we did the full dining plan tips weren't an issue.

For US general public special offers have always been DDP (as far as I know). UK and EU have had some free dining offers that gave QSDP to both Values and Mods, and there may have been some special codes that do the same, but the major offer has always been DDP for mods.

As far as tipping, it's just like any other restaurant would be when ordering any other way. You first get a bill that shows the total amount, and you enter (or decide) the tip based off of that. Note that parties of 6 or more (at the restaurant, not relating to the party that's on the resort reservation) will be automatically charged 18% for this.

Up until recently, all "free dining" offers in the US were for the regular DDP. Some time after the introduction of the QSDP, a new breed of "free dining" offer came out that provided QSDP at Value resorts and basic DDP at Moderate resorts and higher. (Although I believe there were some offers that had QSDP at Moderates, but these were few and far between.) QSDP could be upgraded to DDP for the list price differences; likewise for DDP to DxDP. You cannot downgrade from DDP to QSDP with these offers, even at the same price.

The most common UK "free dining" packages provided QSDP for Value and Moderate resorts and regular DDP for higher grades. Typically, these could not be upgraded, however unlike US packages, they could be for up to 21 nights (normally 14 nights).
