When did your parents tell you no more Trick or Treating?

I forced my 7th grader to go this year, frankly I think we make kids grow up too fast. I don't mind huge man-children coming to my door, as long as they have on a costume! I remember going in 6th grade and a neighbor saying to me - you're too old, don't come back here next year -- throwing the candy in my bag and slamming the door in my face! What I don't get is when you get adults holding a newborn baby and going trick or treat - please!!

My best friend and I went through the 10th grade. We loved Halloween...after 10th grade we started working at a haunted house and gave up trick or treating. My daughter is 12 now, and I'm thinking that she isn't even close to being done. She loves going out! Kids grow up too quickly, and I see no reason to NOT encourage them to trick or treat if they are still having fun doing it!

I'm another person who never knew I had to stop going. Actually, I can't remember what age I stopped.

Now my kids go with a big group from our neighborhood. The parents follow along and we all have a wonderful time.

I went all through jr high and hs.But then I love dressing up and went with some insane ideas every year(I went as Buffy one year, compelete with stake, cross and a fake bottle of holy water)

I think once I hit High School, I stopped going out. (I didn't trick or treat much...it was just a good night to walk around with friends.)

I liked to stay home and answer the door for my parents, got to see all the kids I baby-sat for all dressed up too.

What sucks, now I live in a house with a football-length driveway...we're not going to get ANY kids at all. (ah well - less candy I have to buy I guess! heheh)

My parents had to finally make me stop my Junior year in High School!!! All the older kids at my HS still went trick-or-treating their Senior year too, but I enjoyed staying home and passing out candy my senior year.

I don't mind giving treats to teenagers!:D That is, if they can stand me treating them like a little kid!!! (I ask their names....."do you live in my neighborhood?" "and what are you supposed to be?" ...stuff like that)

My parents just let me grow out of it (I was in 7th grade my last Trick or treat) and I did the same for DD.

Nobody told me to stop but I did on my own probably around 14 or 15. I know I'm in the minority, but it really doesn't bother me to see the older kids out trick or treating as long as they aren't causing trouble or anything. Kids grow up too fast, imo.

I completely agree...I think I was 15...I always liked it and wanted to be a kid forever. Now, I love taking my DS -
