When did your family start booking thier trips for your wedding?

Just curious..Tim and I are booked and my Bf Lisa and her soon to be fiance booked thier trip and the wedding is in May.Nobody else has anything booked,not even my parents.

When do you think they should book it?Like now would be a good time ya think!

Ugh... I had to bug my family on a weekly basis until they caved in and told me to make ressies for them.
Isn't it amazing?
Nobody else made their ressies either... sigh... oh well... at least I know we'll at least have 20 people...

My mom booked her hotel in August for our December wedding, so about four months out. The rest of our family members basically waited until the last minute to book accomodations. I have no idea why people drag their feet on these things!

That is pretty much the same with me. Mom booked early, and everyone waited to the last minute.

So far most of Df's fam has booked. My parents are booked and I am booked. A couple friends have booked too, but DF hasnt booked for him and his BM yet! I'm gonna start getting worried soon cause the wedding is over Memorial Day Weekend and alot of people will be booking rooms. Some have said that its just a case of not having money yet.

I booked my families holidays to WDW, but then we are paying for their first week there. This is the only way we would have got them to go!

Eeep. This is a great post and informative BUT I'd already been worrying about having to harrass the guests into booking rooms. And it just confirms what I've been worrying about!

I had the opposite problem, my Dad booked 12 rooms in his timeshare for my side of the family BEFORE we even spoke to Disney. Then he had to cancel (for a fee) when we ended up not getting our first choice date. But only DF's parents are booked. His other 20+ guests are probably going to wait until the last minute. EEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKK and we aren't booked yet!!!!

hmm... we had to give them an idea of the dates and room night quantity before they can even send the contract. Then they write up the contract and you sign it. All this is done before we were down for a planning session. You can add more nights if necessary based on availability and if you add a lot of nights they will probably amend the contract later on.
Not sure if this is the information you need.

Everyone booked in March 07 for our wedding Jan 08 and it was already booked but that is a very busy time and everyone wanted to be together

Almost everybody booked at the last minute, which meant a lot of them couldn't get into the hotels in our block and we had to redo our whole transportation schedule I highly recommend bugging people, especially as your 1-month cutoff date (when they release the rooms from your block) approaches...

Well my parents and my MOH and BM are booked!!!! nobody in Tim's family did yet,but they wait last minute for everything.umm they aren't staying at disney either,apparently they want to rent a house,which is fine i just hope they do it soon lol. we shall see.

I have to say that Tim and I are relieved that my parents and our bestfriends are staying at the same resort as us and to be honest we only put them in some of our ADRS cause we know that they will be there and we know how long they are staying.

I can just see it now though,Tim's mom is late to everything so we put money on her not being at the wedding on time,especially because they are staying offsite.

Amanda and I were afraid of guests arriving late for the rehearsal and the wedding so we had the Wedding invitation written with a 2oclock start time instead of the true 2:30 time.

We did the same for the rehearsal.... It worked out very well everyone was there no late comers thank goodness. Maybe you can try that and for both sets of parents let them know they may be needed early for pictures too, that will work. They don't want to miss pictures with their children on this very special day.

Very good idea about putting the start time of everything early, especially if you have a bunch of dawdlers in the family. My MIL was late for my wedding and my SIL's wedding, at least she didn't play favorites, Though thank god she didn't have a fender bender for mine, she saved that for her daughter's.
