My baby boy is 7 months and is teething. Hes been "teething" for a few months now. (Seems to be the excuse for anything... Fussy? Teething. Moody? Teething. Facet of Drool? Teething. Chewing on everthing? Teething. Crying? Teething.) We've gone to the doctors and his ears are clear and its all "just teething". I have a stock pile of cool teething rings and pain reliever to heelp him comfy. We are waiting for these "teeth" to come in and hope my cheery baby comes back.

I know all kids are different, but it seems most kids in his Daycare class that are his age (+/- a month) have a tooth... I'm just curious.

When did your child get their first tooth?

My oldest DD got her first tooth at 4 months, and lost her first baby tooth at 4 years!

My DS got his first tooth at about 7 months (about average, I think), and lost his first at 6 years 5 months. I only remember this because if you lost a tooth in kindergarten, you got your name on a tooth on the bulletin board, but his first didn't come out until about a couple of days after school let out.:(

My youngest DD was walking around toothless for a few weeks! She started walking at 11 months, and her first tooth didn't show up until about 11 1/2 months. I think she lost the first one toward the end of kindergarten, so she would have been about
5 and 3/4 years old.

So see, they can all be very different and still be entirely normal!

5 months. I was lucky ds was an easy teether. Didn't sleep through the night until 11 months but teething was easy

My eldest DS was 9 months................he crawled one day & got his first tooth the next:D

Youngest DS was about 8 months when he got his first tooth.

At 4 months. We were so surprised :)

My daughter was 8 months. Also the bottom 2 are usually the first ones.

DD 3 months! My mother told me I was crazy- but had to agree when she saw it! She lost her first tooth at 4.

DS was 6 months and lost his first tooth at 3.... he had fallen when he was 18 months and that tooth always wiggled... when his cousin was 6 and lost a tooth he said, "Hey, I gots one that wiggles!" and he wiggled it right out!

12 weeks. I remember it well because the pediatrician pooh-poohed me until he took a look. I was nursing, so I KNEW the teeth were poking through!

I remember it was a little late for both of them. They got 4 teeth at once. ouchie

My cousin was born with a tooth. That was definetly something to see, most was still under the skin but a little was showing.

Thirteen months (They are identical twins and got the first tooth within days of each other.) And every time they were cranky, which was a lot, we were sure they were getting a tooth, but nothing ever happened.

Daniel drooled and everyone thought he was teething fairly early. He ended up getting his first tooth around 7 or 7.5 months. he used to teethe a few then stop, then a month or 2 later a few more, then nothing.

I know how hard it is to deal with a baby getting teeth. and I'm thinking the twins (now 5 months) won't be much longer...ugh. but once that tooth pops thru its so much better for them (and you!)

My ds got his first tooth at 11 months, my dd got her first at 4 months.

My oldest son was walking when he got his first tooth between nine and ten months. His little brothers were not much younger --seven or eight months.

Teeth that come in late usually come out late, too
