When did you start Packing or Gathering your items?

We leave Nov. 29th and I started getting stuff last year when the discounts were really good on disneyshopping.com and have put them away until we start packing. We are doing a grand gathering for 8 people and I order personalized red golf shirts with each person's name and mickey or minnie with santa hat (boy or girl) since they only offer them at holiday time. We are planning to have photo session at GF or Poly with the whole group to use as our Christmas card and wanted everyone to look the same. Last time we were a group of 6 with hawaiian mickey shirts and so many people would ask "Are you together??" :rotfl2:

I also ordered trading pins on ebay and elsewhere when on sale. Got DD7 a beautiful Cinderella dress for breakfast in Norway from disneyshopping after Halloween for $15 (orig. $95). I have a box in our storerooom that is the Disney box so I don't lose anything.

I will start packing in late Oct. since we change seasons then and will put bathing suits and shorts in suitcase instead of storage.

I never really unpack. DH & I are empty-nester DVC members. We have an unoccupied bedroom now where I keep my suitcase all the time. My kids have teased me that mom has "suitcase underwear" packed at all times!

Is there something I should pack, those most people forget to pack?

We are going at the end of July & I'm taking the spray bottle with the fan for both of my DDs. Hopefully they won't complain about being hot!!!!

I always pack the day before because I have it down to a science.....we travel alot so some things like toiletries I never unpack.

Here are some of things I shared with my DBF to get ready really early to relieve some of her stress.

-Sunscreen, lots of it. It is very expensive in the resorts & they have a very limited selection.
-Portable GPS + charger if you are renting a car
-Call Garden Grocer & put your order in
-Cell phone & camera battery chargers
-make sure all your luggage has correct tags with all your info on them
-try to mark your luggage with something that will make it stand out (especially if it's black) my DBF & I made pictures with her kids on heavy paper...they decorated the paper on one side & we put all their info and laminated them to use as luggage tags
-Pack your "busy" bags for the plane depending on the age of your kids...coloring books, gum for ears, playing cards, etc
-DVDs to use in the resort for down time or a very rainy day
-put together your umbrellas, ponchos

Just some ideas to give you a head start. Enjoy your trip!

DISNEYCHARD the list above may help you.

I have a bag in my closet that i have been adding misc. things to for our trip.(water fans, ponchos, kids toys for down time and what nots)

:rotfl2:
I have a stash in my closet too!! We go in August. I try to buy one thing a week at the store for the trip!

We leave in July and i started packing in March. Only because my DD doesn't know we are going and when I buy items from the disney store(like her costume), I don't want her to know that she has a suit case full of disney souviners.
But i have an ultimate packing list that i use to pack. I can't remember what disney site I found it on and it covers almost everything for any vacation. I just tweeked it a little to fit my own.
