Hello eveyone!!
When did you run your engagement announcemt?? Was it right away or closer to the wedding date. My wedding is 2 years out so I was wondering exactly how this should be done. I was thinking of running it just a year or 8 months before so I could actually post the date of my Disney Wedding. However, some sites that I have seen said that it should be done right away So here is a poll!

We're not going to run our announcement until about 4 months out...reason being, we are having our engagement photos taken in the Magic Kingdom when we go to WDW for our planning session on June 7. As soon as we get the pics back from that, we'll send something to the local paper.

We did ours right away. I figured it was an Engagement Announement so it should announce when we got engaged! Of course, if I was waiting for a special time for the pics, etc...I'd have waited to put it in.

We sent ours to the paper just under a year out (although a month later, it still hasn't run) -- if you are going to have an engagement party, you are supposed to wait until after that to announce your upcoming marriage to 'everyone else' -- Alot of times the announcements don't have specific dates, but something more vague like 'The couple is planning a March 2006 wedding' -- hope this helps!

Well we got engaged in January and we still didn't put an announcement in the paper. We are getting married in August 2008....that's not why we still didn't put one in the paper yet though. We have a photo that we like, but in December we're going to Disney so we might get the Engagment photo package for $295 when we're there and then put one of those pictures in the paper. So we don't know if we should put the pic in now or wait and see if we do the photo package when we go to Disney. We're leaning towards the Disney photos though... :earsboy:
