When did YOU know you were hooked on Disney?

I had a hunch when we visited in "05. But what made me really fall in love was upon our return to PHL airport on our third trip. My daughters were crying when we got off the plane. I asked my oldest what she and her sister were upset about. Kara looked at me with tears in her eyes and pleaded "Daddy can we get back on the plane and go back to Disney. PLEASE!". That's when it was cemented for me.

For me it has nothing to do, per se, with WDW and my many many many visits, but rather I got hooked - seriously hooked - when Walt Disney's Wide World of Color was on TV. We watched it FAITHFULLY every Sunday night. Right before Ed Sullivan. Then Ed HAD to go and introduce me to the Beatles, but we won't go there!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'm soooo Disney that I haven't even considered visiting Universal.

I knew I was hooked when we went again in 06'. I had been many times before and once with hubby, but this was the first time that we had taken the kids. To see the joy and happiness in their eyes and to see that they loved this magical place as much as I do did it for me. So now we have to go back atleast once a year. Let's see if hubby will be willing to go next year. But, as history has proven the kids and I have won that debate 3 years in a row. I don't think he has a chance.:lmao:

I think it was the following day from coming home from my first trip to WDW in 96. When all I could think bout was when i was going back and it wasnt soon enough.

I don't remember the year exactly. My 1st conscious memory was yearning for a Winnie the Pooh for Xmas and getting it!!!! We used to sit on the floor and eat spaghetti. I lived in Orlando at the time and every time our family drove down I-4 (I think we were on I-4, back when it was all trees) my brothers I and would sit in the back seat and cross our fingers HOPING and PRAYING that Mom and Dad were taking us to Disney, and on the times that Dad made that turn where "we knew" we were going - well let's just say the screams could be heard for miles!

:goodvibes I have always been a huge WDW fan since I was a little girl. But I have to admit I never realized I was OBSESSED w/Disney until I went w/my DD:cutie: for the very first time in 2003. After 7yrs of infertility to be able to go to WDW w/a child is unbelievable. You never think that day will come and since then we have been going twice a year.:cloud9:

I have always loved Disney, but I knew I was hooked when I decided, turning 30, I wanted my first tattoo, and got STITCH!!! I knew then and there I was completely and totally hooked and crazy for Disney!

I was probably hooked on Disney the day I was born!!:wizard: Why? you may ask well it goes like this I was born December 15th 1966 which was the same day that Walt died in CA.
played dormant til I was about 6 and went on my first trip to WDW in August of 1973
When I got older and realized that Walt had passed away in Dec of 66 I did a bit of research and found out he died on the 15th. So that made my love for disney really florish!!pixiedust:

I also think since I was born! My DS thinks I'm nuts because I want to go to WDW every year. I remind him that I was born in 1971 (the year WDW opened) so it was meant to be. LOL!!!! :lmao:

The very first time I went. I was 12 and at that time it was just the CR, Poly & MK and I thought it was so huge and so cool that there were hotels right there. We stayed at the CR at that time. I loved the monorail, the Mickey pads of butter (for some reason that really sticks out in my mind :confused3 ) and everything about it. I decided it was my favorite place in the world and it's only gotten better. Now I bring my kids and my youngest DS is a total Disney fanatic!

I blame my parents!!! :rotfl2: Mom and Dad took me to DL when I was 2 and I was hooked from then on! At least that's mom's story! I've been to DL 6 times (had family in SoCal) but now that I have to pay for it, we've been doing WDW. Even DH is hooked now!

i think the first time i knew i was hooked on disney was when i had heard the word "Disney" but i knew i was hooked for life when i took my first trip 2 disney when i was 4 years old.

I've been 3 times to WDW, once when I was wee little, so it doesn't count and when my dad and his family asked me to go 2 years ago I was hesitant, but I had a blast. I wasn't hooked yet though.

BUT...I don't know about any of you, but I love the video on ME on the way to the resort. And it was my trip this past summer, as I watched it and as we pulled into the resort I felt the excitement and teary eyes. I knew I was hooked and would want to continue to go back for the rest of my life.

I've always loved Disney but as a family we didn't really become hooked until our first trip 2 years ago. I've gone several times before but this was DH and DS10's first trip and they both loved it. DH wants to go every year, which is getting harder and harder every year due to the economy but we'll keep going as we can. this is our 3rd trip in a row and there is still so much we haven't seen yet. I'm really looking forward to this year becuase my DBIL is going so that will give me plenty of time to myself to do things on my own :thumbsup2 , even if it's just lounging by the pool that's cool with me.

Oh man the next 6 weeks are going to drag.
