When did paypal start holding funds when you sell a item on ebay??

If I'm reading this correctly you have a set flat rate for shipping. If that is so add the cost into your starting price and make it free shipping. Auto 5 stars for shipping costs.

I agree. It stinks to have to pay final value fees on it, but it seems to work out a lot better just doing free shipping.

You pay final fees on shipping anyway. eBay changed that a while ago. It was to stop people who avoided final value fees by having a low price but extremely high shipping coats.

Free shipping items also place better in the default 'best match' sort. If you have flat rate shipping you just hurt yourself by not adding the costs into the start price and offering 'free' shipping.

Some buyers won't even give you a 5 on shipping costs even if the actual cost is more than they paid. So best just not to give them an option.

Both items were shipped via USPS Priority mail the next day, tracking info recorded..so it will be good when I get it..its Disney money anyway so its going to savings but didnt know there was a change until my buyers paid me

I didn't know that. In that case, I don't see why everybody doesn't just do free shipping and be done with it.

They actually didn't hold my money till the third sale. I was also having large invoices being paid directly through paypal. After they cleared my account on review day, the next invoice would get my account flagged. The most annoying thing, the hold only affected ebay sales. It didn't prevent the invoice money from being cleared immediately.

They've been doing this for at least a couple of years now. My boyfriend's account got put in below standards. It took several months for the bad feedback to drop off. You can't have anything less than .01% on item as described.

Shipping on media, first class, and parcel don't have quite the variance in price as priority mail does. As long as you include one option free, then your listing still goes higher on the best match list. Then you can include priority for a price as an option. Priority and express (non flat rate) go by regional codes, further away, higher the price. Although close enough and light enough it's cheaper than parcel post.

For us, first class and media mail items get free shipping. Heavy items that require a larger box and lots of packing material still have a shipping charge.

I got money released on the first item I sold, buyer was happy and left positive feedback..just waiting for one more then no more selling on ebay for me..
