Holy crap - Tusker House has always been such an easy AdR to get before. Now it's *impossible* for the first week in December! Not a thing is coming up.

Anyone know/guess why the 'sudden' popularity?

Also, the main reason I wanted this meal was dor DD10 who loves Donald - he's a hard little guy to find! Allears.net has him listed at Chef Mickey's as occasionally appearing -- I honestly don't remember if we saw him there or not - I mostly remember chip, dale, mickey and minnie.

Can any recent CM diners confirm Donald's appearance?

I don't know when it became so popular, but I can't get in anytime between Sept. 18th thru Sept. 25th.

I did hear Donald was at Cape May's now so that is where we are going. Maybe someone will chime in and comfirm.

This is the first year that free dining has been offered for the general public in December. That is doubtless what you are running into. Character meals are usually among the first things to sell out during free dining.

There are several recent reports that Donald no longer roams the restaurant at Tusker House. Instead, you meet him first for a photo op.

The free dining plan and cooler weather in December are influencing decisions for us. Donald's Safari Breakfast offers another chance to see the classic Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc. characters - have an ADR Dec. 17; it seems like a nice alternative to Chef Mickey's which our boys love but we've done a couple of times already. We don't like AK in the summer because it is literally 10 degrees hotter there than anywhere else, lol. Looking forward to going when the weather is more comfortable. I'd try back at the end of October when packages have to be paid in full; some may have to cancel, those poor unfortunate souls

We go to Chef Mickey's for dinner every year and Donald has been there for many years now. He is usually greeting near the buffet area. Mickey,Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto also walk around.

Check right now online! I just booked cape may and on the other suggested times and places, the safari breakfast was available for the 3rd at 8:00 am.. Hope this helps!

First, keep trying for Tusker House. You may have to be obsessive about it, but I bet something will open up.

Second, I also have a Donald-loving child. He can be found every day in the Mexico pavillion at EPCOT. He is usually on the pathway, to the right of the pyramid as you look at it from the promenade. His appearances should be listed in the Character Meet & Greet section of the daily Entertainment guide.
