I've already commented on this thread, but since it was bumped, I emailed Disney about the change - stressing that those of us who pay for character meals do not want to wait in line for the characters we are paying a premium to see! I urge anyone who is disappointed in this to contact Disney - they do change things back when many guests are displeased and let them know it.
I got a response to my email saying that anytime they get one like mine, they always get it to the proper people who decide if it is a temporary or permanent change.
