Does it drive anyone else crazy when their husband is sick? How can a grown man act like my three year old son? :confused3 :confused3

that's funny,my dw says the same thing about me when i'm sick.

Ooohh...this is a big sore spot with me right now. Let's just suffice it to say that I agree with you. :rotfl:

I totally agree with you, JennaTX. My DH was sick on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day this year.

Not only is he sick but we went to his parents house tonight to celebrate Christmas, and his mom (whom I love dearly) was of course babying her baby, DH. I was ready to leave him there and let her deal with him! :rotfl:

Men are big babies when they are sick!!! DH can have the sniffles and he will swear it is pneumonnia. Ugh. I have threatened to send him to his Mother's when he is sick if he acts like a baby.

Moms aren't allowed to be sick so why do Dads get that luxury??

Excuse me but not all of us! I am of the if I am sick LEAVE ME ALONE school. If I need something I'll get it myself, if I can't get it I don't need it.
I drove myself to the hospital with a broken foot, DW did let me lean on her shoulder to get to the car though :)
We aren't ALL like that!

My husband's the exact same way. I'll offer to get him some tea or something and he just wants to be left alone.

The only thing that bothers me when he's sick, is when he's sick he's allowed to take a break from parenting. I already do 99% of the parenting and definitely don't get a break when I'm sick, so that's a sore spot with me.

Exactly!!!!

I cured some of mine's whining last night with a big old shot of Rocephin in the booty. (Which makes me feel kind of guilty. He's deathly, deathly, deathly afraid of needles, which means if he let me stick him, he must have really be feeling quite ill.) He was very pale, very quiet, and diaphoretic afterward...then starts asking, "How long will it take to work?"

On the other hand, I just traded one whine for another. Now its not "my throat is sore," but " my butt hurts."

Dh is the biggest baby when he is sick. We can have the same flu and I will go to work and live almost a normal life. He'll be on the couch saying he needs to go to the hospital because it isn't just a flu. He is always claiming he thinks he has a temperature and I go to feel his head and he is cool. Don't get me started on when he gets hurt. He always thinks it is broken and will tell you over and over how much it hurts. Last week he got hurt and I finally told him that it won't make him feel better by complaining about it so maybe he should go lie down and shut the door!

DH and I had this conversation the other day when at 4am our DD started screaming for a drink and he said that he "didn't feel well" and rolled over and went back to sleep ......... well I was full of cold and didn't exactly feel too hot either but I am THE MOM so I just get on with it!

When DH gets sick I say he has Man Flu!! Obviously a different strain to what women get as it's 10 times worse!! :rotfl:

That is so funny :rotfl2: I will definately be using that line for now on!

Or, how many times can he complain he has a headache, sore throat, etc.? If he has taken Tylenol or something and still feels lousy, he has my sympathy. But usually, I ask, 'have you taken something?', and he says no........well then, that's just too bad. You are a grown man, you know where the tylenol is, TAKE SOME!!........don't get me wrong, if he asks me, I will get it for him, also, I will make soup, tea, to help him feel better, but I will not put tylenol in his mouth, he's a big boy now, he can get that himself.

My DH apparently always thinks he's dying. He'll tell me he's burning up so I get the thermometer. Um, no hon, you're not burning up you have 99.9  You will survive! Geez, meanwhile I'll go to work with bronchitis or something.

My DH used to be like that and it drove me crazy. Then he got really deathly ill, ICU sick. He no longer complains about minor illness. He's too afraid he'll have to go to the hospital again

There are times that I'm sick, and get no special care. Then my DH gets probably the same virus and you'd think that he was about to die. If it weren't so irritating it would almost be funny! :rotfl: All my kids are the same way. My 6yo and I got sick last week. Of course I still had a household to take care of... then my 18yo DD got it and she wanted to sit on the couch for a day and wasn't even able to fold her laundry that was washed. Then my 12yo DS got it and you'd think that he's on his deathbed. That is until it's time to stay up half the night playing video games, like he's going to do tonight for NYE... :teeth:

I'm like Alex. Just leave me alone and I'll be fine. I have often heard from women how their husbands act like babies when they are sick. I was surprised when I first learned of this. :confused3

Ain't that the truth! But, I love your terminology. My dh definitely suffers from Man Flu!! :rotfl:
