Hi everyone,
I have been to Disney numerous times in my life and have been recently. In nine days I am taking my DG for her first time to Disney and Florida altogether. We are staying for a week at VWL OKW AND SSR. My problem is I have a pretty set routine for getting to parks doing everything within a few hours and leaving for another park for dinner etc... I am worried I will rush her too much and I want her to have the best experience possible without me running her ragged. Any suggestions on a touring plan for a couple in their 20's? I have a couple surprises for her but am also looking for other ideas couples have on nighttime entertainment besides Pleasure Island.. Any mini golf is a huge forte of mine. Any reccomendations off site mini golf? I love winter summerland and the fairway course but we have a car and are open to other options.. Thank you everyone... :cool1: :sunny:

I suggest you talk to her about why you do things the way you do and let her tell you. Maybe agree to do it completely your way the first day and see if she likes it. If it's too much for her - be OPEN to her wanting to slow down. I used to be a MAJOR Disney Commando. After 2 trips my way, my DH simply rebelled and refused to go again unless I agreed to afternoon naps!(because I had him up at the crack of dawn and went until the park closed!) So I gave in - and now I love it. We have a much better and more relaxing time. I think I used to act like every trip was my last trip to WDW. Now I've learned that the world won't come to an end if I don't have time for a particular show or ride - I'll come back and do it the next time.

I can't resist this chance to ask an experienced WDW visitor the following question ...

WHY are you switching around during your week at WDW, staying at three different resorts? Isn't packing, repacking, and lost time moving a hassle? Is it worth the trouble?

I have asked this before, and no one has been able to explain, even though several people have said that they do the same thing.

Why? What have I been missing?

Thanks so much.

Hi karnak,
I can try and answer your question.. The main reason I am moving so many times is because I have rented points from DVC owners. But all in all I like to try the different resorts and am planning on buying into DVC. I also normally do water parks in the morning and then check in at the new resort then head off to other parks or check in first go to water park and come back and change. I like sampling different resorts and we pack light so it isnt that much of a hassle to move around. If i had a family I would only stay at one resort but since there are only two of us I can do this pretty efficiently in an hour or so. I hope that somewhat helped..

Thanks. I wouldn't have thought to consider the possiblity of points from DVC owners. That might explain a lot, and I really appreciate your thoughts on this.

I've stayed at a few of the WDW resorts (see below), and really enjoyed them all with the possible exception of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, where we were so far from the lobby that I considered calling a taxi for the trip from my room to said lobby and back. But, when one visits WDW fairly often (I'm lucky enough to live only a five hour drive away), it is easier to visit several resorts over the years.

Living in Florida makes joining the DVC less of an attractive proposition, money wise. So, I never considered the point system, rentals etc., as a reason for switching resorts in mid vacation.

Now I know.

Thank you so much for your response.

Enjoy.
