Ok, so we got our paperwork today, we're fed ex-ing it back in tomorrow. We banked some points already. Can we book a trip now? We think we might be leaning toward using points for our October trip and that would require us booking very soon to get a room. Just didn't know how long we had to wait to book our first trip.

If you are just sending back your paperwork then you haven't closed yet, correct? After you close it can take a few to several days before you are in the DVC system. We closed recently and weren't in the system for 9 days. You'll be notified when your purchase closes and figure a week until you're in and able to book a ressie.

Our guide was able to book a room for us as soon as we gave her our credit card information for the down payment. Give your guide a call if you want to book a room. I think he/she should be able to get a room for you (assuming one is available).
