When can I start using DDP?

Sorry if this is a silly question. I tried to search for an answer, but can't seem to find it.

We check in on March 16th at Port Orleans Riverside (3pm is check-in time). When can I start using the DDP that we have? Do I have to wait until I check in at 3pm? Can I check in early (even if the room is not ready), so I can make a lunch reservation for about 1pm? It's the day before St. Patrick's Day, so I was really hoping I could make a Brunch reservation at Raglan Road for 1pm, and a dinner reservation fat Ohana for 7pm or 8pm.

The check-in time set by the hotel is just a guideline regarding when you can expect rooms to be ready. You can check in before that, and you can start using DDP as soon as you check in, even if your room is not ready.
