When can I do a transfer?

I have June 2021 UY points, I was thinking about transferring my September 2021 UY points to the June UY membership. Do I have to wait until September, when I actually get the points, to call MS and do that?

You can transfer whenever. The points retain all their originally characteristics and are not able to be borrowed.

They allow you to transfer the current UY and the next UY of points.

Since you are in your Sept 2020 UY, you are allowed to transfer both 2020 and 2021 UY points today.

Just remember that those Sept 2021 UY points, once transferred still retain same use and can not be borrowed. So, you would only be able to use them for trips starting September 1st.

If that's so, I lose that bit of flexibility when I transfer points. If I don't transfer, I could book a trip in September 2021 and borrow some 2022 points.

That is correct. It’s one of the reasons I don’t transfer. I just book different trips with different memberships.

Or just book some nights on one and some on the other and ask MS to link. We have never had to move rooms.

Just much easier and then I don’t need to worry about how and when I can use.
