Hi,

I keep hearing different things about when I can book flight only for my holiday next year..... We would be travelling out on 20/21/22/23 March 2013 and returning 14 nights later.

I'm not bothered which airline, and we can fly from Gatwick, Manchester or Cardiff.

Thomson flight only is available on their website, but very expensive. I'm wondering when I can book the others.

I've heard '11 months' before.... so would that be 11 months before my outbound date or inbound date? If the latter, that would mean we can't book flight only until 3/4/5/6 May this year? Or is it the end of that month?

Many thanks
Rachel

Flights are available 11 months from the date of the flight. Therefore to book the round trip it will be 11 months from your return date.

The 11 months can be give or take a couple of days depending on there release schedules.

BA tend to be a couple of days ahead of Virgin.

Thank you.... Guess its just a waiting game now then. Will try and do some homework and get bookmarks on to all of the sites I can use to compare flights, ready.

We flew out on 18th Feb and returned on the 6th March and sister and husband flew out today, 16th March for 2-weeks.

We both book our flights with Virgin Atlantic with Miles plus Money around 19th October 2011 and paid £326.30 each plus 2,000 Flying Club miles.

Had we brought at 11-months out we would have paid a much higher price, so if you want to take a chance you might want to think about waiting?

In the meantime if you're not yet a Virgin Flying Club member then it might be worth joining so to take advantage of the discounted prices with Miles plus Money, the price before discount was somewhere between £390 and £400

On our outward flight VS015 we were told that out of approximately 450 seats only 280 were taken and again on our return flight VS028 there were quite a few empty seats.
