Hi
We're also traveling in Feb 09 due to NH break (week of 2/22).
My AAA travel agent told me we can book room now, and put a deposit down. Then if you want to add the package option, you can do so when disney posts them.
Do you know where you want to stay? We like Coronado Springs and hope to return there.

Really? Another TA told me I could book room now but could NOT change it over to a package- that I would have to cancel and start over once the packages were released.

Looking at either WLV again or Grand Floridian.

I called disney directly and did just that last year. I booked in Feb 07 for Apr 08. We booked rooms first, then called back in Aug 07 when new packages were announced. They cancelled my original resv. and turned it into a package and gave me a new conf/resv #. I had to put down a new deposit based on the package instead of one nights' stay (that's the room only deposit). Then they refunded my original deposit. (sounds like it doesn't make sense, but that's how they do it). I didn't bother with a travel agent since I figured Disney would know the best options.

Packages will be released for booking in August of 2008 for 2009 bookings.

Booking a room only prior to that may make you feel better.. but doesn't accomplish much. :confused3

We are looking specifically for a 2 bedroom villa or suite which is why I want to book early. We are traveling during a holiday week and I want to be sure to get our preferred accommodations.
