When banking points...?

When you bank points and make a reservation for the next year, does MS automatically use your previous year's banked points for your newest reservation prior to the current year's points?

ie. Do you have to ask them to use your April UY 2008 points for your April 2009 Spring Break trip before they use your April UY 2009 points?

Normally, MS will use the banked points before using current points - BUT - it's always a good idea to verify that with them during the reservation process. I will typically ask them to review the points in the contract the first thing before making the reservation- confirming the status and number of banked and current points - and then re-verify the same information after completing the reservation and getting the confirmation number. I also figure out the number of points to be used and the number of points in the contract before even calling so that any discrepancies may be reviewed immediately. Of course, with the member's website having all of this info available it simplifies that process greatly.

Usually, there is no problem with MS using banked points first, but it's a good habit to verify the status of the account with every phone call.
