I will be at DL November 1-12. I was wondering if any of the holiday decorations will be up yet. Has anyone ever visited during this time and seen the holiday decor?

Also, does anyone know what Southern California weather will be like during this time?

The Haunted Mansion Holiday will be in full Christmas/Halloween decor at that time, but otherwise, you may catch some early Christmas stuff, but don't plan on anything else being in full Christmas decor. You may find that some of the snow decorations on the castle are up if they bring that back, but I wouldn't plan on seeing the whole Christmas effect. Last year they went into full Christmas mode with castle decor, IASW, the parade, and fireworks on November 16th or so(I know it was on a Friday in mid November, but I don't remember the exact date).

Darkbeer has been reporting that the Holiday entertainment will start on Nov. 21 this year.

Like the pp's said, you won't get to see everything. But you'll be going at a kinda neat time. I went during that time a few years ago, and literally one day everything is plain and then the next day they have decorations up that you wonder "now how did they get that in so fast?" and then they do it again a few days later. Anyways, I don't think you'll see any decorations on the 1st but by the end of your trip I think you'll get to see a few. I was told last year, but I can't remember how soon into November they bring in the tree. I'll see if I can find my home video where the CM told us.

Some docorations will start going up before Veteran's Day because they film the Merry Christmas Parade during that weekend. The parade and fireworks will not be running at that time, however. Also, IASW is due to open in November, most probably with the Christmas overlay.

DLR currently has slated November 29 as the reopening date for IASW Holiday. So even many Thanksgiving visitors will miss it. :(

My co-CM went for Halloween last year, and from what she said, 1 day (Halloween), all the halloween decorations were up, then the next day (nov. 1) the tree was already up on main st. along with other decorations (although not all, and she did not get into all of that).

I can verify that the tree was not on Main Street on November 1 last year.
I'm pretty sure it was up on the 16th, just in time for the official holiday kick-off.

It is a real tree, and it needs to last through the first week of January.
