When and how should we make reservations at Sonya's at Vero Beach for Thanksgiving?

Do we call Disney dining for this or do we call Sonya's directly? Do you have to wait till 90 days to do this? Or are we already too late? How busy are they on Thanksgiving? I'm just full of questions tonight. We only have a party of 3, so that should help some.

We (also a party of 3) have have enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at VB for the last three years as part of our stays there. Thanksgiving Dinner at the resort is very popular with locals so it is a good idea to call early. We usually call the resort directly about 30 days prior to arrival and have no problem. We waited one year until we arrived and had to settle for a seating time in late afternoon. What's nice is that you can ask for leftovers later in the evening, just like at "home". The food is wonderful and reasonably priced.

Oh good, thank you! I was worried that they'd be booked already. We want to eat rather early...5:30pm...so looks like that won't be too much of a problem.

You can ask for leftovers later? How interesting! Do they charge you for them? Just curious.

Actually, for both the resturaunts at Vero you need to call the resort directly. You cannot book by calling Disney dinning like for the parks. I called for the character breakfast before our stay this past May and they wouldn't take any PS's until 30days out....I would think Sonya's would be the same but call the resort direct and ask just in case as they may take the PS's earlier since you're talking about a holiday;)

I believe that the Thanksgiving Dinner starts at around 11:00 AM and goes until about 4:00 PM. I don't recall the times exactly. We always eat about 1:00 PM.

We had the leftovers in the Green Cabin Room at night. They do charge but they brought enough turkey for a sandwich, dressing, potatos, etc that we could split it. They brought us two plates to do that! It was about $8 or so for the leftovers.

Still, call as soon as you know what time you want to dine so that you can ensure you get the time you want. As I said earlier, we really like the food at this event and look forward to it each year.

Thanks for posting that. I just called to find out and it was sort of confusing. Apparently there is a buffet from about 11:00-4:00pm, then Sonya's has an "a la carte" menu for dinner starting around 5:00pm.

She said they used to have two buffets going (Sonya's and Shutters), but sometimes people would have parties of 20 or more and it was just too much for Sonya's buffet because it was a smaller restaurant.

Never having been I don't know which would be the best. We generally like buffets. But wonder if the food is better at Sonya's, or will it pretty much be the same food at both places because it is a special meal (traditional thanksgiving fair)?
