When and How do you tip?

I want to make sure I tip everyone I need to tip, but I'm not exactly sure when & how.

Do you just walk up to the person and hand them their tip?

Do you wait until the ship has docked? Or, do you tip the waitstaff during your last dinner?

I'm guessing that you just leave the room attendant an envelope on the dresser (just like a hotel).

You usually approach each person on either Thursday or Friday night, Friday night dinner seems to be best. You probably won't see them Saturday. You get envelopes in your room and it's nice to give a nice thank you with the envelope. We tipped cash, but you can go to guest services at any point during the trip and request tip slips if you are going to charge them to your stateroom account. Yes room attendant we handed to him when we saw him.

The last night of the cruise they give you envelops labelled with the stateroom host, head server, server & assistant server for cash given at the last dinner, give tip personally to state room host.
If you want it charged to your account, go to guest services with a sheet that's provided to guest services. They give you a voucher to put in the envelopes to give to the crew.
