When a resort deposit was booked with a Disney Gift Card

So I made a deposit for my resort with an electronic Disney Gift Card. I no longer have that email with the card. If I cancel my trip, will they try to put the deposit on the gift card or will they reissue another one? Does anyone have experience with this? And when they do it by gift card, how long does it usually take for them to reissue the funds?

So in order for them to send you a new gift card, you will need to call to cancel the reservation and tell them you no longer have the gift card.

It took about two weeks due to the backlog... but i received a digital giftcard... i almost missed it.

The reservation won’t let me cancel online anyway, so I was going to call and be sure and get the name of the castmember I talk to.
