Wheelchairs and Buses at WDW

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a back injury that prevents me from walking long distances or standing for extended periods of time. I have my own wheelchair, which I'll be bringing on vacation and taking to the parks. Depending on my back/pain level I may be in the chair part of the day or it could be most of the day.

My question is this: When boarding Disney buses, can my DH just pick up my folded chair and carry it on the bus?

The buses have lifts or ramps designed for wheelchairs. You can be rolled onto the bus and then the driver will strap the wheelchair into place.

The wheelchair could be folded up and carried on the bus if you wanted to walk onto the bus. If the bus is crowded this may be a little diffucult. I would suggest staying in the chair. This way you will not have to worry about finding a seat on the bus.

By all means, you can sit in a regular seat, and just fold up the wheelchair.

It's easy, it's quick, and it frees up an additional 2 seats.

Of course, if at the time you need or prefer to sit down in it, and be strapped in, that option is always available too.
