sorry another question was orginally going with dd and ds 3 who was wheelchair user but becuase his chair is tiny and he prefers a bath we did not need a disabled room plus they only have king bed.We are booked to stay at pofq.

Ok now the problem is I am now due to accident a f/t wheelchair user and wondering what to do as the disabaled rooms only sleep 2 .So thats a no go since me and ds3 and dd be there.

Are the door widths the same into the normal rooms as the disabled rooms ?.Am happy enough to use a normal room if thats the case and we will just mange .And i prefer bath to and will sort out bath raiser so can get my butt out the bath .

All doors into all the rooms are 36 inches wide which is much more than the 24 inches which is required for a wheelchair.

And when you make your reservation just let them know there are multiple people with wheelchairs and the ages, and that you do need a room with a roll-in shower. You will find that you will get more than one bed. Disney has ways of handling this, but do not tell the people in advance.

Most of the rooms with roll in showers have only one king size bed. They would be able to bring a roll in cot to some of the rooms. The size of the bed part of the room is smaller to make room for a larger bathroom.

The door widths are the same on all rooms; the accessible rooms with roll in showers do not have wider doors.

I know that it is possible to get a bath chair - this is a chair that sits inside the bathtub. I am not aware of any companies that rent bath lifters. And, if you have one of those in the tub, your children would have to bath around it or use it.
The bigger problem would be the bathroom, many of the bathrooms without roll in showers have a very small room with both the toilet and tub inside. In most cases, you would not be able to get a wheelchair inside the bathroom and may not even be able to get it thru the bathroom door.

If you go, I think you will need a room with a roll in shower.

Thank you TA has spoken to disney and they said only way round would be for me to pay for a second room with a door between the two rooms. As they said they only allow 2 in the acccesiable rooms .

And I just t can not afford that price and can not see why I should have to pay extra just becuase I am in a wheelchair and ds uses one .So now have to decide what to do .Ds could mange in a normal room but need to work out how on earth I am going to.wheelchair synchronsation moving anyone

or whether i just cancel the whole trip .Which is a shame as after the past few months ha dmy mind fixed that the trip would still be doable had sorted out flights and asstiance and Disney now gone and let me down

Ok i am now angry and intend to take the battle to Disney themselves .Now to find a list of people that i need to contact

Since you are working with a travel agent, you won't be able to speak with Disney directly. The TA actually owns the reservation until a few days before the guest arrives, so all communication and requests need to go thru the TA and Disney is not able to talk directly to the guest.
As Cheshire Figment mentioned, there are ways they can deal with things like more people in the room than beds other than charging you for 2 rooms.
As to only allowing 2 in the accessible room, I think something got misunderstood. There is only a king sized bed in the room, but you could choose to have the 2 children sleep in the bed with you and I know that other people have gotten a roll a way cot in a room with a roll in shower.

There is no need to get angry and do battle.
Since you are working with a travel agent, Disney can't talk directly to you. The travel agent owns the reservation until a few days before you get there.

The travel agent needs to do the talking with Disney for you. The travel agent has not spoken with the Special Reservation people, he/she may need to do that to get it all sorted out.

But, as Cheshire Figment and I both mentioned, they do have ways to deal with it that do not require paying for an extra room. Even though you have not done this before, it is a common situation to have 3 or 4 people and have to deal with a roll in shower room.

No I called Disney myself and was planning if they could help to book direct through them and transfer the deposit i had paid to TA to the flights only.I am not someone to just take one persons word for it .I check and double check

Take a bow VA who was not phased about the fact now 2 wheelchair users in same family and they make sure we have plenty of help

Ta was willing to do this with the money transfer

But i got the same answer from their Departments myself as trying to make a new booking and she did go of to speak to disney deaprtment .They have changed their policys apparentley

and no I would not be allowed 3 of us in the room even sharing the bed I did ask about this or even having a trundle bed in the room that could be slid under the bed when not needed

.Not ideal sharing a bed with both a 9year old and a 7 year old but would have done it lady on the phone even checked 3 times with the other department if was anyway round it and answer was i either had to book and pay for a seperate room ( bit much as dd and ds only 9 and 7 and you can have 4 adults in one standard room .or I had to look at booking a 1 or 2 bed villa at okw or ssr at extra cost of £1600 for a 1 bed .

.I think my red hair irish temper is coming out oh and i am being polite when emailing but asking someone to clarify in writing exactley how they can accimidate my familys needs

closing - responded to the OP in a PM.
