Wheelchair Rental Question

I have a question about wheelchair/ECV rentals. My husband broke his back about 3 months ago. We have been planning a trip in August to Disney for a while now. We are AP holders and from FL, so we know how brutal the summer heat can be! On this trip, we are taking it easy (not only b/c of his back, but I will be 7 months pregnant) staying at a monorail resort and hanging out at the pools, etc. We are going to try to go to the parks in the evenings so that our 4 year old can go on a few rides and see the parade and fireworks. He can walk with a cane and for short periods of time, but no way could he walk the whole park. My question is...Do we still have to pay for a full day wheelchair or ECV rental if we are just planning on using it in the evenings? Do they do 1/2 price or discounted after a certain time? I have been searching for a thread on this, but I can't find anything.

Thanks
Kristin

I have never heard of a discounted rate for less than a full day.
You might want to look at renting from one of the off-site places. There are phone numbers and links in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board.
They are a little bit less expensive per day than renting from the parks, plus he would have it to get to around the resort and also to get to and from the parks. The monorail station is on second floor, which is fine when you are getting on at the resort; but at MK, there is a long, steep ramp to get up and down from the monorail station to the ground.

There is no provision for a partial day rental at the parks.

Just came back and rented a wheelchair for Epcot and MK and the cost was $8.00 a day when we rented at MK we rented it for the both parks...so it shouldn't be too bad they did not have a discount for 1/2 days sorry
