Wheelchair Rental for a few hours?

Sorry if this information is readily available....we leave in 15 days, my 9 year old niece just got a walking boot that will be on for 14 days(injured Achilles' tendon). We expect she'll be able to walk a bit but not all day. Could we rent a wheelchair for a few hours in the evening? What is the cost? Should we be concerned about availability?

She's a tiny girl and may fit in her sisters stroller (shes 4) but it's unlikely she'll want to do that.

And....they don't know about the trip yet. Her next appointment is 2 days before we leave and she'll know at that point so we'll have more guidance from her doctor.

Speaking as someone who's been to WDW in a walking boot, I think it's overly optimistic to think she won't need the wheelchair all day. YMMV, of course.

I would recommend getting a child size wheel chair from off site. The walks from bus to hotel room are LONG at the end of the night.

I agree with PP's. There are some other recent threads about walking boots while at WDW, and it likely is going to be much more tiring for her than you realize. I second the suggestion to get an appropriately-sized wheelchair. Some of the off-site vendors have them, be sure to ask for "pediatric" or "small" and they may ask about her height. A regular adult-sized chair, which is what's available for rent in the parks, will not fit her appropriately and she would probably end up slouched so her knees bend. For any extended use that will be painfully uncomfortable for the girl. She is welcome to park the wheelchair and walk whenever she wishes.
