Doe disney ever run out of wheelchairs to rent? Also, can you go between disneyland and california adventure with the same rental? Thanks.

I edited your title to make it clear to readers that you are asking about DisneyLAND.

I know at WDW, they run out of ECVs, but typically don't run out of wheelchairs.

Thanks. Can anyone tell me if you can take a rented wheelchair between the two parks? Seems like you should be able to with the park hopper pass. Just wondering.

Yes, you can. The primary wheelchair/ECV rental is inside Security but outside the actual park entrances. So as long as you have a hopper you can go between the parks.

You just cannot go outside the Security area (such as the Downtown Disney area) with a rental.

I have never heard of them running out of wheelchairs, but it is very common for them to run out of ECVs.

They never run out of wheelchairs it seems and if they do it would only be on an extremely crowded day toward the middle or end of the day. Unlees you are going on the 4th of July you will be fine.

Rentals are on your right as you enter both parks. You will leave a deposit plus the rental fee. You may leave with them crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs, strollers, etc. Keep the paperwork and you may turn in the wheelchair, scooter/ECV and strollers at either park.

Leaving
If you take the monorail you will have to leave the rental downstairs by the elevator. If you are taking a round trip you can take the wheelchair up to the platform and inform the CM that you need the wheelchair to get to the monorail and that someone will be leaving it on the platform for your return. Explaining things helps.

You may not take a rental out through the tented security areas on either side of the esplanade nor out the exit at Grand California Hotel. You may leave your rental at the rental site and they will hold the rental until you return. I went to DLR 5 times this month and each time I took the ECV to the rental place and left it with them then took the key and went home. Fed mom and returned to a recharged ECV. Wheelchairs do not have keys but if you want to make sure that the wheelchair is safe while you are offsite then you can store it with them.

You can get the GAC at any Guest Services site which is always on your left as you enter parks and once you are in the parks. GAC is for guests who are disabled or have limitations that are hidden. I use an ECV but at times I waddle onto rides so I get a GAC for those times. The rental place will give you a brochure on where to enter rides and shows with a wheelchair. Also it will tell you which rides you have to transfer to the vehicle and which rides have vehicles that the guest can stay in a wheelchair.

Sometimes it may take a while like on Jungle Cruise as they keep the WC boat in dry dock waiting for disabled guests. If you have any questions feel free to ask me about DLR from food to allegens to parking, I spend so much time there.
