My cousin is going in late Aug for her son's Make a Wish trip. He is 8 and will take his last week of chemo   in about a week (gotta get those counts up).

She is hoping that he will have his strength back, but I know from my brother and sister that it took both of them a little ong than a few weeks. She thinks that he should be able to hold out for the day.

I told her that I seriously doubt that her 2 HEALTHY children will last all day let alone the one that just got through with chemo.

OK enough rambling.

Should she use a wheelchair or a stroller? Does he have to ride in a wheel chair to use "pin" or whatever that comes with the Make a Wish? I told her I was not sure. Not sure if Donovan will wanna ride in a wheelchair the entire time. He might feel more comfortable in the double stroller where his little brother can sit too.
HE IS EXTREMELY SHY. So I thought if someone OTHER than just him was riding that he might feel better.

Hopefully, someone who has been on a MAW trip will respond. I'll start you out with some things I am pretty sure about from reading/talking to people who have gone.

People have posted in the past that Give Kids the World village can provide/arrange for strollers or wheelchairs, whatever would be more comfortable for him (not sure if he is staying there, but many MAW kids do). Contact your wish granter or email GKTW at their webiste:

Many kids will be using wheelchairs; some use strollers and some walk. It depends on the child's needs. The pin is not dependent on using a wheelchair. What I have seen some people do is park the wheelchair in an area (like Fantasyland) and then walk around the area/attractions close to where they parked the wheelchair or stroller. They go back and get into the wheelchair/stroller before leaving the area. That way, they are not sitting or walking all the time.
