Has anyone used this lately, and if so how was it? I was told to get there at least an hour in advance (even in January?) And I read someplace that only one other person is able to accompany you. But then others with ECVs have complained about the number of able bodied family members who stand and block the view. If the Wheelchair viewing doesn't work out, any other areas you'd recommend? How about way back in Fantasyland by Dumbo? I don't mind not being in front of the castle, although I'd prefer it. Lack of crowds has its advantages.

It's kind of a free-for-all to get a spot in the accessible area so if you are thinking about it, I'd say arrive even more than an hour ahead of time. As for other guests, I'm not sure there is a limit, so that's another reason to get there super early - there is a little wall in front of the area where they can sit while you wait, but I have also seen people using these little stools. (I don't know if they are strictly "allowed" but one family I saw last year had 3 or 4 other guests sitting on the little stools. Amazon - about $10-20 depending seller)

Also, in answer to other spots that work for ECVs/Wheelchairs, we've tried many, and usually, just when you think you have a great spot, the CMs let the crowds into all the walkways and you are still stuck behind lots of folks and all you can see is butts. And getting OUT when it's all over is an act of patience and being ok surrounded where you can't see beyond the people in front of you... kind of like a school of slow moving fish... LOL

If I can't get into the Reserved area, I head down Main street closer to the exit since you at least might be able to see the high fireworks and the lights on the buildings... and if nothing else, might beat the crowds to the exits.

We generally go to the ECV area. We do go about an hour early. Sometimes the view is better than others!

December 6, last year…not the foliage and poles in the way.

I don’t stand, I stay on the ECV.
