We might be taking a last minute hop over to AK from a college visit to Tampa next week (Tuesday). We would arrive to AK sometime around 1:30-2pm. What are the chances there would be a manual wheelchair for rent during the holiday week at that time?

I haven't read of parks running out of manual rental wheelchairs. I wouldn't count on a courtesy wheelchair being available to get from parking.lot or bus area to rental location in the park

It's not impossible for the theme parks to run out of wheelchair rentals. Much less likely for that to happen vs ECV rentals, but it does happen on occasion. They'll put you on a waitlist if they don't have one. I don't know that there is any way to guarantee you'll get a wheelchair rental in-park when you arrive without bringing one yourself. Would the person be OK walking a bit if there isn't a chair when you first get there? Next week is likely to be a fairly busy week with Presidents Day and Mardi Gras, so many schools in various regions of the US will be on break.

Thanks for the info. It's not a deal breaker, my child is ambulatory, but it's a stamina and pain management issue if we do make the decision to pop over to the park for the 1/2 half of the day. It's our vacation week too and we know it'll be busy. She also has a DAS, so we'll at least be able to try to rest a bit between entering queues. I'll pack a towel so she can sit on the ground if we don't have a chair.
