Wheel Chair ?

We are leaving for WDW in 9 days and DH is now out of work due to a torn ligament . He will find out Monday if he needs surgery or just pt. There is no way he is going to be able to walk all day at the parks (though he thinks he can!) If he needs to get a wheelchair, what does he do with it while waiting in lines and going on attractions? He won't need to use it all the time, but at least to take a break from walking once in a while. We won't use it to get in the handicapped section, that is for those who truly need it. Is there "parking" for wheelchairs? Do you think someone would take it? (We've had strollers taken in the past.)

You can rent the wheelchair at any guest relations place in the parks, its about $8.00 a day. They give you a placard that you write your name on which then goes into a plastic sleeve on the back of the wheelchair. You can save your receipt and if you park hop, you just pick up a new wheelchair at your next park. They give you a list of where to get a wheelchair in the parks, if you suddenly realize it has been "taken". You can park it usually by the stroller sections. I mainly use it as a walker, but after 3 back surgeries I might sit in it a while. I also do not take handicapped places and save them for the truly handicapped, I did use it for the mgm parade once because my back was really killing me and once at fantasmic. I also definetely would not leave any valuable stuff on it like souveniers or cameras etc. If you are staying on site at a disney resort, some have wheelchairs that are complimentary but that is only on a first come basis etc. See you there!
