Hi! I am traveling next week with my baby sis (ok she's 26 - not really a baby) next week. She recently tore her ACL so I will be pushing her in a wheel chair. We plan to rent them at the parks. For AK - we have a reservation for Tusker House at 8am but the park doesn't open til 9. I assume the wheel chair rentals are open starting at 8? Can anyone confirm or share experiences? Thanks!

Yes. The Stroller Rental locations (including wheelchairs and ECVs) are open when the first Guests are allowed in the park. This includes people who have reservations for dining prior to official park opening.

You may want to look into renting either an ECV or a wheelchair from one of the outside rental places. The walk from either the bus or car parking can be kind of long.
Plus, if you have one, she can use it at the resort too.
There is information in the disABILITIES FAQs thread about places to rent.

thanks - I am just not sure how her mobility will be and am trying to decide about having to push one everywhere if she doesn't need it all the time. Guess we will see how it goes.

Pushing a wheelchair can be exhausting and the parks are huge and can tire a person not pushing a wheelchair. I've been the person in the wheelchair and it can be frustrating not to be able to move yourself where and when you want to go. An ECV gives me freedom and it's so much more comfortable than the wheelchairs.
