My Ds has a wheat and nut allergy. Can anyone recommend good counter service restaurants please?

I have made ADRs at Kona, Chef Mickey ( breakfast), Boma, Brown Derby, Olivia's, Akershuus and Chefs de France. Are these good restaurants for wheat free?

My son loves chicken strips and chocolate brownies. I don't suppose I will be able to get these wheat free. Any desserts would be good though, as he usually has to have just fruit when we are out for meals.

Also, is there anywhere near disney where I can buy wheat or gluten free bread and Rice Dream milk?

Thanks everyone!:)

Head over to the DisAbilities Board. You will find lots of information over there.

The CS places we ate at all had the Lactose Free, Gluten Free, Peanut Free Chocolate Brownies.

The resorts carry Silk in regular and chocolate.

The TS places had special tapioca rolls.

Get in touch with the Special Diets at WDW and they will help you with any questions. Where to go for CS in each park. You can also send in all your ADR's on a form that they send you and the chef's at each restaurant will know what your son is allergic to.

The T/S restaurants at Disney are great about allergies. My grand daughter is allergic to tree nuts and at every restaurant the chef came out to talk to my daughter about what my grand daughter could and couldn't eat. We ate at several buffets and the chefs walked the buffet line with my daughter and went over exactly what was OK to eat.

Same here. They've always been very helpful wherever we go. I know some of the table-service places even have special menus. The key is to make sure they know exactly what the allergy is. I'm sure they're so paranoid over being sued that Disney makes sure cast-members are being careful.

They serve allergy free chicken tenders at many counter service (Columbia Harbor House is one). Special Diets will send you a list with options for all counter service restaurants, so I would definitely get in touch with them.

Btw, I love, love, love (did I mention love?!) the Big Kahuna breakfast at Kona. they make great dairy free, gluten free mickey waffles!

email dining services with your special needs- I did,and got a huge list of every restaurant in WDW that could help us. You can get an amazing array of WF foods, including chicken tenders and hamburger buns!

I just received my information by email today and was totally amazed at the amount of information they sent. DDIL has celiac so I forwarded all the information to her and she was thrilled to think she could get so many choices.

I would suggest going to the disABILITIES Forum and look at Post #3 of the disABILITIES FAQs. There is a large section in that post dealing with special dietary needs, as well as many related links. You can get directly to the disABILITIES FAQs by following the link in my signature.

This is a very common topic of discussion in the disABILITIES Forum.
