I maintained the ROFR thread for many months. I cannot see a rhyme or reason for why
DVC does what they do. I sold a contract with about 25% current points and all '05 points coming in 4 months at BWV for $69 per point. DVC passed it, but during that time many more expensive contracts were ROFR'd. I know from my guide that there was a waitlist for BWV in my u/y.
I have, however seen some trends. The more money you pay, the faster the ROFR will go thru. I have seen some posts where people were paying a LOT of money per point, and they have received word on their ROFR in 3 days.
My closing agent at TCS says it has a LOT to do with who your closing agent is. She used to work for DVD, and she said now her contracts take 30 days no matter what! I like her, and used her for a lot of my contracts. I have purchased 7 contracts via resale and never had any of them rofr'd....but, when I went with this one particular agent, I knew I would have to wait 30 days....even when the "going rate" for waiting was 10-14 days.
I have also seen a trend that contracts of the same home resort seem to come thru on the same days. It's like DVC "holds" contracts until they get several of the same resort and then they "review" them together. My guess is that they buy back the cheaper of the contracts and let the other ones pass. That would explain why there is no "set" price on the contracts (that, and to keep everyone guessing).
Just some of my thoughts!
