What's your secret shame?

At the age of 33, I really have no "secret" shame. :)

I'm very open and honest about my love of teddy bears, musicals, Disney (animated and live action), Star Trek: TNG, James Bond films, Star Wars and Documentaries. Also about my love of music. Trance, Classical and Latin as well as Rock & Pop music from 50's - mid 90's. :teeth:
Oh, and I love playing VMK which is designed for kids and teens! :teeth:

The Beach Boys are cool. They really are. Just ask me. ;)
I love the Beach Boys! And have since I was a young child. Elvis is another fave of mine.

Ok, I don't feel so bad now....I also love Saved by the Bell. I tend to catch Boy meets world at 2-3 pm by chance, too ;) Sometimes I even catch Fresh Prince of Bellaire or Full House.
Man, I'm pathetic......
No you're not! I love those too!

I have been to 9 Hanson concerts and have paid $300 a seat to sit front and center. I still love them. No, they aren't the teeny boopers any more. Their music has really evolved and they are some of the most peer-respected independent artists.

That is the honest truth - other musicians and artists LOVE Hanson. I don't know why but I thought it was funny that you mentioned that!

I read Reader's Digest and listen to Disney theme park music in the car...yes that is me at the stoplight singing Listen to the Land.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I have looked over many times to see the strangest looks on peoples faces as I am singing to my Disney cd. "Remember When" always makes me tear up.

Reader's Digest is great. My grandmother got me a subscription when I was a teenager & I have kept it ever since.

My secret shame is my needlepoint & beading addiction. Between that & the Reader's Digest all over my house (yes, I save them all :rolleyes1 ), no wonder my friends call me the little old lady of the group. Sbella

I can beat that. I went to over a dozen NSYNC concerts and Im still waiting for them to get back together for a reunion tour. To this day I have an extensive memorabilla collection. Hundreds of hours worth of video tapes, concert souviners, books, magazines, postcards. pics, buttons, stickers, and anything and everything with their likeness on it. Plus all their CDs, including special releases, imported ones and various singles. I can also repeat any line from their songs and recreate any dance move they have done in a performance/video. Obsessive much?....maybe. But I dont care.

I love me some Laguna Beach! And if you tell me that it's fake- we're done. However, I take comfort in the fact that DBF's 33 year old sister watches it religiously too. I love that she's a physician's assistant and will be a mother in two months and loves to watch 17 year old drama on MTV :lmao:

I'm about ready to pee myself over "the Hills" starting in two weeks!!!

Also any other MTV reality show like Real World, My Sweet Sixteen, Tiara Girls, or any of the RW/RR challenges.

And I feel shameful for watching "yo momma," "parental control" or "date my mom" especially since I can't stand to watch them but can't turn it off!!

I know that no one here will think it's something to be embarassed about- but I'm a Disney DVD collector too- my friends think it's hysterical.

Yes. My best friend would always come over to borrow my Disney films for her kids. :)
She (with 3 kids and 1 big kid) has maybe a quarter of what I own and I don't have any children! ;)

mmmmmm

i talk to myself all the time

n all my other friends think still liking disney is a crime i should be ashamed of
i really don't think so on that one :confused3

This is fun.

I looooooooove Hanson. I want to marry all three of them. Of course my children think Im nuts since Ive been married forever and am in my 30's. :goodvibes I tell them be quiet, your dad wont mind :thumbsup2 . Isaac Hanson marry me please......

Im addicted to little house on the prairie. I cry every episode. :)

I watch my super sweet 16 on MTV. Im so bad I let my dd8 watch, but I tell her those girls are horrible spoiled brats and never expect something like that.

no secret to my family but-

i tivo (and watch same day) up to 4 hours of court shows per day (judges judy, joe, alex and people's court) -but hey when you speed through the commercials it cuts it down to maybe 3 hours of actual viewing time :teeth:

when i had to retire early and was left a sahm with kids in school all day i managed to watch every episode of northern exposure, the waltons, little house on the prarie, chicago hope and mama's family (this started before i got tivo and some were on at 3 in the morning-but i have horrendous insomnia as indicated by the time stamps on my postings on the dis). i am currently working on the beverly hillbillies. i just wish they would do re-runs of thirty something :guilty:

i once leaped out of sick bed from a dead sleep to smack my husband across the head-but he deserved it-it was when thirty something was first run and i was too sick to watch it, dh promised to watch it for me (he could barely tolerate it) while reading and wake me up if anything pivitol happened in the plot line. did'nt wake me up-just waltzed in to come to bed and when i stirred and asked what had happened on the show he said "not much-same old, same old" and just as i roll over to go back to sleep he casualy mentions "oh by the way-gary died" :furious: EXCUSE ME???? "MY GARY IS DEAD???!!!"-DID THIS HAPPEN AT THE END OF THE SHOW?????-"no not realy, but i'm sure you'll get some kind of a re-cap before the show airs next week". to this day when he wants to get me ticked off all he has to say is "by the way gary died" :furious:

I love Kraft Mac and Cheese.
I used to work as a chef and we cook interesting and sometimes elaborate things in our house. I love that too. But when we have steak (which I dislike) I make myself Mac and Cheese from a box.

I'm a huge sucker for the Real World/Road Rules challenges on MTV.

I've become hopelessly addicted to Little House On The Prairie, and now I've gotten Dh addicted to it too.

I LOVE Hanson!!! Love, love, love them(forgot to put this in my earlier post)! My oldest DD became a fan with their first album and we saw them a few years ago in concert...almost got to meet them, but younger DD was tired and cold and crying. I was surprised at the number of moms who were wearing Hanson t-shirts. I've been to many concerts over the years, and I enjoyed Hanson more than most of the others! I'm still a huge fan, and DD16 is closet fan(now seems too embarrassed to admit that along with Green Day and Jewel she also loves Hanson and would marry Zac if she could  )

This is a great thread, BTW!

This is a great thread.

My secret shames:

I LOVE shopping at Home Depot before anywhere else.

During football season no one touchs the living room TV, it's mine.

I like trying the kids games on Nick.com and Disney.

I totally have become addicted to WWE wrestling and even have my fav's (mainly the heels though) some of those storylines are funny. I even "stole" one of DS10 Action figures. And I keep a cut out pic of my fav on my dashboard in my car. (How sick is that?)

And I love to watch Nick Jr's "Lazy Town".........my kid's love laughing at me for watching it. Oh, glad I wrote that- today is a new episode.

Oh boy....here goes. From the age of 10 until 20 I convinced my mother to follow the Osmonds from city to city during their summer tours. Made lots and lots of friends that I still have to this day. When Donny was in Chicago doing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, I saw it 10 times in the first six months.

They say what goes around comes around, flash forward to my DD at age 12 saying to me "Grandma took you all over to see the Osmonds, can't we do that for the Backstreet Boys?" Well, she got me there. Nine years later we have been to over 40 concerts including one where we drove from Chicago to Orlando and back in a blizzard! All and all I must say that I am glad she was able to have the same experience that I did, and it lead to her meeting her Best Friend and they are closer than most sisters I know!

A little over the top? Most would probably say yes...but hey it was fun!

"Maury Povich." I gotta find out "who's my baby's daddy?"

I listen to the Winnie the Pooh and Heffalumps, Too and other Carly Simon/Pooh soundtracks -- when DD ISN'T in the car. "pooh:

I paid $150 each for the Princess and Erin Beanie Babie bears.

I have never missed an episode of Survivor in all its many seasons.

I eat DD's fruit snacks –– at work.

I cried when I found out Taylor got married. Wanted to kill her when they had the first baby six months later. It was only recently with this second baby (and me now being married) that I can come to terms with her :rotfl2: And BTW, Zac is engaged :guilty:. I sat there talking to her one day and had no idea. :confused3

Here's a few picutres from the most recent Meet and Greet I was able to take pictures at. Ignore the tag at the top. Apparently, there were a lot of closest Hanson fans on the Knot, too. I posted these there at the request of many. They came to my school last fall! They actually talked about recording Underneath and their split from main-stream record labels/establishing their own after they showed their own documentry. I was in heaven. :goodvibes

I love the MTV shows 8th & Ocean and There & Back. I love The Surreal Life, Celebrity Fit Club, Strange Love, My Fair Brady, and Flavor of Love on VH1. I also LOVE WebJunk on VH1 and that Viral Videos show on Bravo. Anything that has to do with funny things caught on video, I'm there. I love to laugh. :rotfl:

I'm a Maury Povich addict. Who's My Baby Daddy??

I have memorized the prices of EVERYTHING on The Price is Right. Garlique is $6.99. Hot Pockets are $3.49. I can guess the Showcases within $1,000 every time.

I watch The People's Court 3 times a day.

I record the Fox25 Morning News. Who records a news show to watch it later? Me. I LOVE that show.

I saw Britney Spears in concert when I was 25 and it was AWESOME.

I'm really quite a strange person. :teeth:
