So you arrive at DLRP..... What's the first thing you do?

We'll upack if our room is ready, then we will hit the park. Dd wants to do star tours first, so we will hit there and go to the hyperion place and have some lunch then get to space mountain if we haven't already managed to get fasspasses. Unfortunately small world is closed but we'll probably hit adventure land after fantasyland.

Oh I totally missed your thread until now. Good question. :cheer2:

The procedure is approximately like this:

We (DB and I) usually take a nap for 1 or 2 hours first. Because we arrive in the early morning after 5-6 hours of driving and are too tired to do anything else. Fortunately our room always has been ready. We refresh ourselves and then head over to the lake, rest a moment on "our" bench and enjoy the view. :goodvibes When we go down the stairs to the entrance of DL or I better should say DB is going I'm bouncing down full of excitement. :Pinkbounc Then we take a stroll down the mainstreet, soak up it's atmosphere and do a little window shopping. Next thing at the most is BTM or a ride that has only little waiting time. I 've almost forgotten. We do change that course in one case: If we spot a character. Correction: :teeth: if i spot a lonley character wandering around - this one isn't safe anymore pirate: :rotfl:

 should stop here! I'm a little bit wordy and too detailed.

usually we arrive about 1pm and go to lunch at Planet hollywood and then go on the rides at fantasyland while the parade is on, though on our last trip we headed straight to the park as it was hot we were not hungry.

We usually arrive early morning we try to go to the parks and wander a bit the have lunch then go and check in and then have a siesta.

I've been thinking about this, and I've come to the conclusion that we don't have one!! I guess mine is usually to get to the parks as soon as possible! :wizard: though we've never had any first day traditions (or middle day or last day ones either, for that matter)

But my over-riding memory of when we visited before we had children, is that my DH's POA once we had arrived, was to try sit down somewhere and read his book!!!!! :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

If its an morning arrival, then its straight to the Shareholder Lounge.

Or if its time for hotel check in it will be that first.

When in the park we will then pop to city hall to make reservations for somewhere to eat that night.

But the first ride tends to be Pirates.

We (DH and myself) always arrive at 10 /10.30 am :confused3
If our room is ready, we get it the faster we can, leave everything inside except our DLP passes, then we walk very fast trough the Disney Village (I'd like to run but DH says we must save energy for the rest of the day :rolleyes1 ). We begin by the Disney Studio, straight to the Aerosmith Rock'n roller coaster! :thumbsup2 Then when we have enough of it, we go to Magic Kingdom and enjoy Mainstreet and Frontierland :woohoo: . After that, there's no more plan of action, we're free! :bounce:

On first day I always tease myself by avoiding going into Fantasyland becasue I want the exquisite agony of knowing it's there to visit in full the next day!
This year we hoped to hop straight on Buzz Lightyear but the wait was 70 mins, lucky for us we walked straight onto it another day of our stay. Love n Light xxx

Always straight to Disneyland Park for me! I like to ride POTC first :thumbsup2

Whatever time we arrive my first port of call has to be Big Thunder Mountain. Once i've ridden that then however tired I had been feeling is replaced by that wonderful Disney adrenaline rush which sets me up for the rest of the holiday!

Once we've unpacked and bought a sandwich from American Style Sandwiches it's into the park where we always say 'good to be home', then soak in the atmosphere as we walk to Pirates of the caribbean which is always our first ride. It's usually Phantom Manor then but Buzz Lightyear may be a contender for ride #2 now, though PM is closer to POTC than Buzz (or maybe it isn't actually as PM is right at the far end of Frontierland from Adventureland).

Having studied Google Earth, it would seem that Buzz is closer as the crow flies, but the route to Phantom Manor is more straighforward!!! Decisions, decisions!!! :teeth:

May require verificator's evidence :) ;)
